Thanks again Steve
Loads of places seem to do re-conned back axles so like you say it appears to be a pretty common issue. Dont seem too expensive but I reckon it would be a ballache of a job to do on my own in my garage.
May even add an LSD to the box eventually so if it went I dont think it would be a disaster!

Gearbox can be uprated by a few companies, use larger bearings from another car.

Gutted. My mate had 105 ZR, it handled really well, out of the box.
With the BRM having the 1.8 I reckon you could get a few extra ponies out of it. The LSD is a must have on any track car imo.

also if your seriously thinking of buying it take a jack. If the rear beam is shagged they will have camber on them when on level ground then once both wheels are off the ground you will feel play in them. A jangling noise may just be loose ARB plates

should be easy to get the saxo to sub 850kgs,thats with just stripping parts off.
few people have them under 800kgs with a 19k cage. lightest i have heard off is 750kgs. no dashboard, no inner door skins. also with a cage.
