Just looked on Direct.gov and NVQ2 is equivalent to GCSE level.
I can see why people will not give jobs to those with just a level 2 to be fair.

NVQ at a guess. Means nothing in the real world unfortunatly
Thats a bullshit statement.
NVQ's are nationally recognised. Its an on the job qual so actually shows you can do the job.

No.
Its the equivalent of 5 A-C grade GCSE's.
Level 3 is equiv of 2 A levels.

Train further or take an apprenticeship.
Work for a company for free to get trained?

I'm not sure where this misconception started that you can go to college then go out and get a job as a plumber or an electrician?
Did someone tell you that was the case?
The only way (in 99% of cases because I'm sure I'll be told otherwise) is to do these as an apprenticeship.
It's never been the case you can go to college for a year then get the same job as a guy who's been slaving away on below minimum wage for 4 years.

It's the governments fault, and it was the Labour cunts that let it get so seriously out of hand.
It will never change now, benefits are a lifestyle choice; as soon as any government (and it would only be the conservatives) try to drastically change the system and actually make it fair to the hard working taxpayers amongst us, they will be voted out in favour of cunty Labour.
I cannot imagine how much worse it would be under the Liberals, they seriously have no idea.

Who said anything about getting a job straight away? I've been talking about apprenticeships since my first post.

Both L2 and L3 need a good amount of work and application. You can't really "fail" though as such unless you give up.

Why did you go to college to do it at all though? It was a waste of however many years.

Says the parasite. I'm not making excuses for anyone, as I've said several times I can see both sides of the fence.

There wasn't and still isn't any apprenticeships available around here. My friend got one but was then made redundant after a few months. Out of everyone I went college with, afaik only two have found an apprenticeship.

It makes me laugh when people say "ive been applying for plumbing apprenticeships for 4 years and havent got one "
Do you not think its time to try something else and actually start your life? Are you still going to be saying that at 50? Living in your parents house on the dole?
I want to be a pilot but i cant fly planes boo fucking hoo.

Nothing wrong with having a goal etc, but i'd definatley think about getting another job in the meantime whilst waiting for an apprenticeship.
