Just resized the pics :-)

Here is the current full tank shot but we also sorted out the return pipework last night so that big white pipe has now gone :-) ;

The best pic that I've managed to take of the tank at night with the moonlight LEDs on

Another 8 cans of expanding foam used, that's now all of the horizontal pipework above and below ground insulated with just the two small vertical sections to finish (we've used 48 cans so far!)

The garden is starting to look a tiny bit more like a garden again, hoepfully all this rain will let the earth settle so we can then put some seed back down soon.

Garage now tidied but the stacked sump system is still to be installed for the automatic water change and topup, and the quarantine tank.

Pipework now properly finished on the return to the sump, just need to get another filter sock.

Chaeto growing nicely under the 125w 6300k Envirolite lamp. I need to silicone on some glass lower down in the sump though and drown the light down inside a bit instead of resting on top.

The corner by the garage door where the drain is going to be installed ready for the automatic water changes and self cleaning skimmer. The drive has already been dug up to access the main soil pipe in preparation.

Where the sink is going to be installed in the corner along with another drain connected to the same soil pipe.

I walked into the dining room and caught Finn sitting up on a chair watching the fish! The rest of the boxing on the pillars will be finished next week, and hopefully boxing in all of the top of the tank too.

Bit more than that now but yeah, that sort of ballpark figure. That doesn't include any of the livestock though

We finally got the blinds installed in the lounge and dining room today so I've been able to take some better night shots without reflections.

Full tank shot with the moonlight LEDs and the actinics

The new plating green monti is really fluorescent under the actinics, its a shame the camera cant capture the colours properly!

how will you insulate your outside pipe from frost and cold splits?

All of the underground section is covered in about 2" of expanding foam (we used over 50 cans, which was almost £500 just for the insulation!). The vertical sections will probably be wrapped in loft insulation and boxed in to protect them from the wet because I will still need access to them for maintenance eventually.

Surely there was a better way to insulate rather than expanding foam?

I can't imagine it being as effective as wrapped and sealed PIR insulation?
