Should just go through the gears if you plant the pedal.

If it's like DSG (pretty sure it is) Will have normal auto, sport auto and then 'manual' for the paddles.

There nothing like a DSG you can't compare the 2

They both have automatic and manual shift modes as I was stating?

Internally they are very different I agree with the DSG apparently being better in all ways other than you can't skip gears.

The speed a dog box changes why would you want to skip gears.

DSG has to be one of the best "auto" boxes on the market twin clutch is effortless and so efficient it's untrue.

SMG are old technology now and even in their day were never the best, rather a manual over SMG anyday

You obviously have not driven one for any length of time. They are not jerky whatsoever if you know how to drive one.

You will love it. If you are really worried about expensive repair bills then you can get aftermarket warranty for about £700 a year and they come & inspect the car beforehand etc.
To be honest yeah mine is costing a bit to fix but as you have bought a manual the engine is the only bit that can cost loads, and they really are good engines I've just been unlucky and suffered component failure. It's so rare for them to go wrong. Just enjoy it and don't worry
Keep out the for sale section on m3cutters if you don't want to spend a fortune though

Its an SMG mate..

Im not worried about repair bills, i could buy an astra vxr and the engine blow up, still looking at ££££ to repair...

Providing nothing catastrophic happens like yours I will be fine.. the car wont be driven super hard or tracked so high stress isnt an issue.

TBH Id rather save the £700 to use if anything does fuck up

That's what I said John if nothing had happened I'd feel like I've thrown £700 away lol. It's motoring it's always a risk we're just not able to pop to the breakers to get an engine for £50.

Once you get on some open B roads the car will make more sense
