Started to sort out my rear brakes, decided another easy bolt on conversion was the way forwards. Sourced a pair of Supra twin turbo rear calipers to match my fronts. Went used this time, but i think it would have been easier and not too much more expensive to go new
Some rather 'used' calipers
Had a few issues with these. A common issue that i wasn't aware of is that the pad retaining pins seize in the calipers, and these were stuck good and hard! i couldnt even press the things out! ended up taking them down the road and let garage D sort it!
Secondly the seals were split, so ordered a new set from Toyota
So I did some searching and everyone on the Supra owners forum says the same thing with regards the pins.. get stainless! Ordered a full set including some for the front which i am waiting for. While i cant fit the brakes, i though i may aswell paint the calipers and replace the seals..
Gave them a good run down, degrease and some paint
Colours alot lighter than i expected, but i quite like it. May do the fronts at some point to match. Happy with the finish, considering its from a can
Will update when the rest of the bits arrive and i fit them

Yesterday, in a little bit of a rush i managed to fit the rear brakes.
not too exciting, and i havent even driven the car properly yet since doing it!
some old vs new discs.. now running larger brakes on the rear again! lol
cut up the backing plate to accomodate the larger discs and twin piston calipers
and all together
need to wash the poor girl!

Wow, it really has been some time since this was updated!
Not huge amounts to report apart from me killing it a few times and fixing it. Attended some japanese car shows with the guys at soarerunion.com over the summer
Ill post some pics from these
Running at santapod at japshow finale
Japfest at donnington
So it was a decent summer, then one of the turbos decided to crap itself leaving me without a car. i bought a lovely Astra for £250 to keep me going.
Now im collecting parts to convert to a single turbo to get it back on the road and better than ever.
Got the turbo, just need everything else!
should see around 500bhp and 500ft/lb at 1.5 bar when done

Yeah still an auto, no doubt the box will self destruct and some point so will end up with a manual in it

I just always envisage autos - especially older ones (I know new aren't like this), as slow and clunky gear changes

It's not a bad box to be honest. Struggled getting of the line at santapod with it. It's no slouch off the line, but the ratios aren't great. More suited to cruising etc. it'll do 136 before switching up to 'overdrive' or 4th as what it really is.

Ridiculous statement.
Depends on the car, powertrain, box, setup, software etc etc.
Would you drive a manual Range Rover? No. Because it would be fucking dire.
Bigger cars don't need to be thrashed like shopping trolleys. They have ample power and with a torque converter more torque! Most can be "manually" changed now anyway with paddles or buttons. Its a different way of driving which suits some cars, others not.
Would I want a slush box in an M3? No. Would I want one in a C63? Yes.
