Mertesacker's positioning is top class.

Has to be because of his lack of pace

Reported that ba has said he fancies a move to arsenal in jan transfer window. Great.

I dont actually think Mertesacker is that slow tbf. People assume it because he is tall and his fantastic positional awareness furthers that view but he can move when he needs to. Would like to see him alongside Koscielny more often, would make the defence a lot lot stronger IMO

Not sure what to think of this tbh... his scoring rate (apart from the last few months of last season where he was forced to play 2nd fiddle to Cisse) is top top rate (IIRC, only behind RVP and Rooney in total goals scored since his arrival, even allowing for those few months) plus his knee seems to be fine but something makes it unattractive, and i dont know why :/ Im always averse to signing any African players on principle due to the ACN, and if we do sign him and he goes to the ACN then he is as useless to us this season as Huntelaar (CL tied). Adrian Lopez seems much more likely but i know literally naff all about him at this point in time

Llorente.
on the rather obvious assumption that they wouldnt pull all the stops out to sign Falcao (which they should IMO, but wages would likely be impossible) then yes, absolutely. a steal at <€10m too. think he'd be a fool to go to Juve tbh, he has a better chance of winnign a medal there perhaps but much better chance of achieving much better things at a club like Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc., if that makes sense

No it doesn't make sense. What does he have more chance of achieving at Arsenal or Spurs than at Juventus?

As in, anyone coudl go and win a medal in a shitty league, and Italy is hardly rated as a top league these days. better to be in the mix for titles and in the CL regularly ina better league than picking up easy medals ina much less competitive league

Let's be honest he isn't going to be in the mix for titles with Spurs or Arsenal.

Llorente is 27, Arsenal won't win the league again during his playing career.

Potentially another 7 years.
I think we will.

We are there or thereabouts every year, without really challenging most seasons admittedly, but in my view that's still better than challenging with a poorer team in a poorer league (I await us drawing Juve in CL and them tonking us )

£150m from Emirates and potentially the same again from Nike/Adidas should suggest otherwise, in theory :S

Hold on. Yes, Serie A isn't as good as the PL , but he'll still get regular CL football for a team that outclassed the current holders?

Arsenal lost to Bradford? Juventus are a great side these days. A big part of that being Pirlo dictating the tempo. If he isn't marked out of the game then they are a hard team to beat!

I don't read any papers!
I wouldn't particularly want to come up against Juventus in the CL, look a very good side.
