20mm at most, but a fair bit stiffer, do improve the handling a lot.

They had a lot of complaints from the Megane owners as they as very similar shape.

Clios have a bit of difference in them.

I'd help you but I don't have a spare 5 minutes at all at moment

Should have done the rears by now anyway, only take 10 mins.

Even I managed to do the rears on mine (albeit I snapped a wheel bolt)

I'm not lowering just the rear and leaving the fronts to do as and when I've got some spare time

The fronts are easy if you spray wd40 on the bolt holding the strut in place and also on the actual strut.

Hit the wishbone with a hammer to shock the strut out if it won't budge.

Simon rocked up today with a set of springs.... so off we went.

"Before" shot of the rideheight:

Bolts out, springs dropped out:

New vs Old:

Fronts needed bullying with plusgas and rattle gun, didn't take long though - also must have got the car under 1000kgs with all of the crud I chiseled off the bolts...

Simon was nervous about us not being able to undo these, but they pretty much just fell off when we touched them...

Cruddy...

New vs Old top mount bearing:

Shiney shiney...

And the after shot, the spring you can see in front of the car is not a part we forgot to put back in... I don't think.

Car felt fine from the passenger seat, no creaks rattles or bangs - but Simons' 4000 mile old Continentals have been knackered on the inside edge, so needs to sort alignment and new tyres I reckon

Much better, But Spring compressors?! No need for those on sports

New top mount bearings will make it drive much better too.

Haha well better to be safe than sorry! We did notice the springs weren't under a lot of tension, especially with the tiny 17mm nut holing one half of the top mount on!

The ride is a fair bit stiffer, you can definitely throw it about a bit more on back roads now. Just need to take speed bumps a bit slower.

Thanks mate, think this car is the only one I've not been bored with after a few months. I've still a few things I'd like to do to it too

The only problem I had with mine was the fact it just want quick enough. I've always had the same problem with cars with similar performance ie around 7/8 seconds 0-60 like the CTR, Golf GTI, Octavia VRS etc they just don't have enough shove but there just quick enough to have fun with.

Bet a lightly turbo'd one would be great fun.

Yeah I completely agree with performance on the road, but on track they have plenty of power to cope with more powerful cars as the handling more than makes up for it
