We ended up getting an Astra Estate and getting shut of the 3 door 207 in the end.
Pram went in the boot ok but we could get anything else in there - i.e. our food shop. Mrs was also struggling to get the baby in and out the back seat. Also didn't have ISO fix.

What you are forgetting is the M3 has big wide doors.

A baby is the smallest person you can get. I don't know why all the fuss. Can get three grown men in the back of most cars.

I wouldn't want to have a 3 door, it's fine when they are first born maybe but he is getting heavy so wouldn't want the hassle of climbing into the back to clip the seat in. 4 door few

I suffer with my lower back probably coz I'm tall, tried to put my son into the back of a 3 door once and fucked it off and put him into a different car, doesn't help that he's rediculously heavy lol.

I'm a little confused to some of your responses when it comes to young children. Larger doors are going to give you more room to climb in and out to attach a baby seat in comparison to a small car.
With regards to having trouble opening doors into other motors, just park in another spot. I generally do this anyway with my cars.

My sister-in-law tried telling me how wonderful it is to have children, all whilst her two year old was spitting his food in her lap and pissing on the floor repeatedly in the space of ten minutes.
No love, I'm OK thanks.

Its not easy and its not for everyone. Having a son has helped me out as I can share the same interests and relate a bit easier than if we had a girl. Wifes out numbered. Get a car seat that clips in using a isofix base for the first 9 months its a doddle.

this is all I seem to notice. People telling me how it's the best thing they have ever done, while scooping shit off the seats of their 4 door focus budget model. I'm sure it is.....I mean I can get a full nights sleep. Really sounds like I'm missing out.

You'll find it's not really up to the bloke tbh. If the women in your life wants kids, she having them. The very best you can hope for is she'll fuck you off if you don't want them. Alas most likely turn of events is you'll be led to believe you've got super spunk like half of us dick heads on here...

I fear I will succumb to the pressure from my mrs within the next 3-5 years. I guess if you're going to do it, best not wait until the mrs gets too old. Could probably deal with one, no more though.

One thing, if/when you do have children, make sure that the missus knows you still find her attractive, despite the stretch marks and possible saggage. - I did a poor job at that and now going through a lot of shit because of it!
Having a daughter is the best thing i've done though, makes me so proud every day, she's 4 and a half now, started her football training last week, only girl there, she doesn't give a shit, works her arse off and the joy when she manages to stop the ball is priceless.

Do you find you don't do things for yourself now? It's all about the child. Your quality of life has suffered massively?

That's been a big issue between me and the mrs recently, yeah, and obviously it's difficult, but if you want you can find babysitters/time to do things, go out once a week or a fortnight, make sure you have a "date night" etc... I decided to stay in to let the missus go out with her friends a lot of the time, I didn't have a raging personal life anyway, but it's definitely taken a dive since having a child, but I really didn't mind sitting in watching TV, and having a few drinks in the evening
It's hard to say quality of life suffers because I can't really remember what it was like
Personally I wouldn't change it, I was ready for a child.

If my missus got "saggage" she would be straight back down the gym for double sessions. Can't see the appeal in staying with someone you find unattractive, until you get to at least 50
