I can almost gurantee you're not making any gains because:

1. You're not eating enough.
2. Or you're not training intense.
3. Or there's a problem with your routine.

I thought i was training intense, until i started puking up after certain exercises... that's intense. Bodybuilding is all about pushing yourself through the mental pain barrier. Your mind will give up before your body.

I'm pretty sure I eat enought and I frequently leave the gym feeling sick and have to sit down for a while!

My mates think I go too regularly and I should cut it down to 3 visits a week... I'm not sure.

Mark.

You should train 3-4 times a week, no more.
Give me an honest example of a typical days eating? How much do you weigh?

Cheers mate. I like all of these anyways So, plenty of the above, lots of milk. How often is it best to go to the gym?

Personally, i go 4 times a week.

Monday: chest/triceps
Tuesday: back/biceps
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: shoulders/traps
Friday: quads/hams/calves
Saturday: rest
Sunday: rest

That way i get a rest day in the middle of the week, and the whole weekend.

I'm just under 6 Foot, I weigh about 88KG, I generally skip breakfast, sandwich and crisps for lunch, generally try to eat turkey or chicken in the sandwich.

Tea consists of Potatoes, sweetcorn, some meat, pasta (generally)

What else I eat depends on the day.

I also only drink water and milk.

Obviously it's better for your health if you dont smoke, but no, smoking wont stop you from gaining weight. If you dont feel hungry after you smoke, just smoke between meals.

Don't skip breakfast, your body is crying for protein in the mornings. Going by that, you're not eating half as much as you should. You need to be consuming protein every 2-3 hours.

Yeah, the breakfast thing is bad I agree... and I drive around schools for a living so it's difficult to snack with stuff thats high in protein... Any suggestions??

P.S. Appreciate the help, my friends are all short skinny and not interested in building muscle!

For those wishing to take creatine, take it in a hot drink like tea or coffee and add a teaspoon of sugar with some fruit or fruit juice.
You need a loading phase and a maintenance phase.
Take it like this:

Loading phase:
10g per day, as 2x5 servings for 5 days
5g per day, for 5 days
3g per day, for 7 days.

Maintenance phase:
2g per day, for 5 weeks.

Lots of things, just prepare it in the morning before work, or the night before.
Obviously the best thing for you would be protein shakes, easy and quick. Protein bars etc. Or just carry a few chicken breasts around in a tuppaware tub and have a nibble.

I shall bear that in mind... Chicken breasts in the back of the car!

May do the protein shake bit though, sounds easy and practical!

Yep, i take Pure Whey.
Buy a shaker bottle from somewhere like Maxi-Muscle, only about £4-£5, so much easier (and cleaner) than using a blender.

In addition to protein shakes, i mix up 12 eggs (6 whole, 6 whites only), 3-4 scoops of protein and a pint of milk. Sipped through-out the day.

creatine will give u muscle bulk, but not much strength

when u take creatine ur muscles absorb more water, hense them looking bigger

they also after a while give u a square jaw and make u arsey, so similer effects as steriods

Creatine gives you a square jaw? Sorry but thats the most ridiculous claim ive ever heard.
Researches side effects are temporary gastric upset and nausea. Muscle cramps have been reported too, more-so from performance athletes than bodybuilders though.
Yes it does make the muscle draw more water, and it DOES increase strength, it gives you more energy and stimulates protein synthesis in two ways.
