Would Owen go for a pay as you play deal when he must know himself he will never play because he will be injured

He might as well find a shit stupid club who will give him a big'ish contract

Turnbull is shit but at least he is English I guess. Sturridge is actually a seriously good young English talent. Pace to burn and scores goals, quite a good signing actually.

could be interesting if its only a pay as you play deal, i certainly wouldnt expect united to commit any big money on his wages so i dont see what would be so funny about signing him. if he was fit he would score goals, and if he didnt get fit just release him, dont see how they could lose.

Firstly, this is Owen you're speaking about, he WILL NOT join anywhere on a pay as you play deal when he can get £60k a week playing for Hull. The guy knows he is fucked injury wise so will not accept any deal where he has to play to earn his money.

And as for him being a 1 in 2 striker....he has very rarely done that (even when on top form for us) and only time in recent seasons was his first for Newcastle...and that was down to him only playing 11 league games.

200 goals in 411 games is a 1 in 2 striker

EDIT: 243 goals in 433 is his official stats from his fancy brochure

Last 4 yrs in PL - 71 games, 26 goals = Goal every 2.75 (basically 3) games.

That is not a 1 in 2 striker.

I care that he is shit but he won't ever play. Yes the more English at the club the better. Obviously I wouldn't of signed the fella.

They all play more than 11 games in a season though!

And if you want to get arsey its more than Tevez and Berbatov, and not far off Rooney.

Fair enough on recent form aye but over his career he is better than 1 in 2.

Oh, didnt take it as a question, thought it was fact

I dunno, I expect it is better than them as they all play more games in a season then he does and none (other than N'Gog) play as an out and out forward.

They were better than both Berb and Tevez though, and close to Rooney at 2.5 games per goal.
