It's update time again.

We started by removing the wings, and I took a pic to show the cage, not sure if there's been a pic before.

Then we spent about 2 hours riveting the Kevlar inner wing things in.

In the last pic, you can see that all the wing bolts (and radiator bolts) with funky lightweight cap head bolts.

Mark decided to be a geek and weigh them, and I was amazed at how much lighter they were.

Here's a pic of the originals, you've got the screw, u-clip and a washer.

And here, you have the lighter ones, with bolt, washer and rivnut

That means that on the wings, 85 grams have been saved, and we've used them everywhere we have been able to so far, so it's probably nearer 200g now

Then I set about tidying up the bracket for the oil cooler, the pics are a bit crap, so there's 4 of them.

Close up

I'm well proud of that all 3 mounts are vibration proof bobbin mounts.

Got a pic with the head off and head bolts in too

We took that off to do this

They need a little bit of adjusment, then we can fabricate a bracket to hold the tank to the firewall.

And finally, a pic of everything

I was there at 9 o'clock this morning, Mark was late

Not sure how much we'll get done next week TBH

Seeing those samco hoses makes me wonder if it's worth getting some for mine.

Looking good Mark. Will have to pop up to see it in the flesh some time.

Other than to drop my bits off there is no need to come over to chat to Mark and Charles about the 1.6 16v tuning, they have found a solution
