smaller wheels, quicker acceleration, theyre lighter than speedlines, r888's and yoko a048's (might try yoko's next) are cheaper etc.

ive had these speedlines since about 2001. its about time i had a change.

Can't you get wider tyres if you are going smaller? As they won't be anywhere near the arch trims?

problem being i wont have spare front wheels like i do now. so if i was to get wider ones, i may not be able to use the car every day as they may catch. will have to see. the tyres themselves being 195 are nearly level with the arch. 205's might be ok on 15's

edit, 205/50/15 r888's are about 20 quid more than 195/50/15's

A bit expensive then on an every day car. Shame you can't get some other 15's to put some 205's on for 1/4 mile days.

its about brake clearances. the mo's have more space behind them so with a touch of grinding should can fit them reylands under. if i dropped to a 288 4 pot kit id be fine. just cant afford to do that really plus the reyland brakes i think a fair decent.

if its catching up front, you can get someone to hold a scaffold bar between the arch and tyre, then drive forward slowly so it rolls between the tyre and arch, and pulls the arch lip out, lift the bar up more to bend the lip up more if you have to.

metal part of the arch has been cut back already. also the plastic outer arches have been shaved aswell. 195/50/16 toyo's catch on them on full lock etc. id imagine the 15's will be better. not sure about 205 50 15's, too expensive to buy them just to test them out tbh.

you might be ok, 205s on 15s compared to 195s on 16s will be about 15mm less diameter. shame the lip has been cut, pulling that out also pulls out the plastic trim so prob would have given you even more clearance

them r888's are a very square tyre though not like regular tyres. 195/50/16's i have now are actually a fair way wider than the 195 45 16 yoko's.

i mean i drive it all the time now with them toyo's on so it snot a major issue

well me and the legendary milkman mapper went on a road trip to scouse land today in the vectra. got an impressive 34.1mpg even though i wasnt hanging about shall we call it. for those that are from scouse land, wtf is that mess of a road system at the end of the m58? fuckin christ. i got lost trying to get back onto the m58 ended up going towards manchester. thats the biggest piece of wank road layout in the known universe. there is only 1 roundabout in the whole of carlisle. easy to get around up here.

went and met 3i_gaz, sound fella indeed. and then some strange person turned up.

feel sick for having to say it, but what a quality car that really is. looks as good as it does in photo's. those blue wheels are well cool. anyway enough vtec approval for now....

went to buy some mo's off gaz.

tried them on the front as thats where the grinding of brake callipers is needing done at.

doesnt actually need that much ground off the caliper. can actually turn the wheel but it is touching. random indeed.

like them a lot indeed. this week will get callipers ground down a touch and order up some r888's for them.
