that safety car thing wont happen with every safety car its only really an option that the race director can take say if there was a multiple car pile up that will take time to clear up its a bit like having a red flagged race cant see it really getting used much tbh

That's the whole thing Cole, they have a red flag for that purpose... We've seen three safety cars in a race before, could go imagine that?! It would take all fucking day
Plus someone would stall or breakdown, then there would have to be another safety car...

Ridiculous.

The new rule can only be called once 2 laps past the previous restart, so if there is a pileup on lap 1 of the GP - there's either a redflag, or a rolling restart. It also cannot be called in the last 5 laps of a race.

It does seem daft though, as we're still going to watch the cars trundle around behind the SC until the accident is cleared up, and THEN they stop for a restart

A bigger rule change that doesn't seem to be getting much press, is that Parc Ferme now begins at the START of FP3... which is just fucking stupid.

No, but was 0.1 off Ricciardo's. Never been to the track before and ended up only 0.7 off the lap record
