I'd be happy with Barry, he's not a true DM mind BUT he has experience and would slot straight in... they won't get as much as thye want for him though... although maybe £12m + Justin Hoyte would tempt them (I think Hoyte is quality on his day!)

Ryans Pre-Season Prediction: Pennant to re-light his career this season and be one of the most improved players of the 08/09 season.

Yeah he'd do well with you lot, as would Alonso. Is certainly the kind of player you need there to allow Fabregas to play a little more. You'll end up paying atleast £15m cash though, as look how MON has handled things with us when no one else was involved - the guy is a fucking fruit loop.
Its a good situation for us now, means we can walk away knowing we arent getting ripped off or leaving Barry at a club he doesnt want to be at after coming out and saying he wants to move to us.

O'neill isn't a fruit loop, he's playing the game to maxmise the sale. The bloke has everything planned out and knows that Barry is offski he's just making sure that he gets as much cash as possible.

He is still a fucking looney. I know he is trying to get the most for the player, and thats part of his job and is doing it well, but he is a fucking loon when it comes to the media.

TBF probably a good point, he'd do business for an exchange of some young english talent.
Pennant to blackburn would make my day, all this money we are getting in could well fund something big
BTW does ed have ticks now cosmo, he aint having a good week is he

I just worry about a potential middle of the park of
Almunia
Toure Gallas
Fabregas Barry
Could be a bit leaky... still, it's be nice to have some English starter at least lol!

I reckon Barry could be stuck at AV for a good month ro so yet.... if we do want him, then Wenger will probs leave it as late as poss to bring the value down as much as he can!
And yeah,. I'd deffo take Xabi Alonso & Cesc in the middle!
