Just to further back up on Arteta...

Slightly before the end of the season but shows the key stats. Rememebr when we qualified for the CL (you liverpool fans remember that competition yeah?), well the reason we couldnt tie it up before the final game of the seaosn was due to Arteta getting injured. he may not be the most spectacular player but he holds the ball amszingly well, distrubiutes it superbly and has a killer finish to boot
Arteta is a good player, no doubt, but he stands out because the rest of your midfield was garbage last season.
Hardly Song made more assists than almost anyone in the Prem, Rosicky was instrumental in our resurgence and Walcott (agreed not strictly a midfielder, but plays as part of our front 5-1 or 3-3) also added some ridiculous amount fo assists

Song and Van Persie linked up well yeah (forgot about that so fair enough), not sure he'd have made that many assists without RVP being on the pitch mind . Walcott is a winger or forward and I've not once referenced him.
Every time I watched you lot with Arteta in the team he looked like your best midfielder. Does things simply, and intelligently. Ramsey was always trying to hard to look for the ball and force things, and Rosicky whenever I saw him play looked a yard off the pace. If you ever get Wilshere fit, he could make a big impact on your midfield, but I'd still rather have ours.

Arsenal have been on the downward slope since Eboue left ( can't even type without laughing)
Arteta can't be that good, never played for Spain...

He was Everton's best player for years, when he wasn't injured so that cancels out your assertation

£160 million profit on Anelka, Overmars, Petit, Henry, Vieira, Fabregas, RVP, Toure, Adebayor and Nasri.
Not bad. Especially considering the use they got out of them when they were, more than arguably their best years.

All they need to do now is re invest it in some decent players

Not as good as it sounds considering the price of players these days, a bit like when people sell houses and think they have made shit loads and then have to go buy a house that has also inflated!
