Only on the inside edge. They do him for now. Plenty of tread over the centre and outside.

Shame about the wheels
I need to do my roof drains but I haven't got round to it.
Just painted my discs as calipers now

Legal limit is 1.6mm, wear indicators are 2mm.

Only on the inside edge??? All 3 wear bands are level with the tread.

Since when were wear indicators 2mm?? I always thought the point of them were to show when the tyre becomes illegal for us that don't have a tread depth gauge.

I was told by the garage that fitted my new vredestein front tyre that thet were 2mm. Happy to be proved wrong.

Don't worry, i'll be getting new rears this week anyway. Would you rather have tyres on the limit or tyres that rubbed on bumpy roads?

If original wheels need new rubber why not just buy narrower rubber for your new wheels ?

Cheers kedowan. I'm not 100% on the dish, but I love the spoked centres.

Jon c, I suppose I could just buy narrower tyres, but 19's cost a bomb Wouldn't want to go any narrower than standard size which is 225 front, 255 rear.

gave the wheels a good clean up whilst i decide what to do with them.

been dying to use this for ages, but as the current wheels are matte black, i never bother putting it on.

gave the wheels 3 coats on the face and dish. they've come up lovely.

i'm really torn on what to do. i could put the 235/35's on the rears to lose 30mm of tread on each tyre (20mm less than standard) and put some 215's on the front (10mm less than standard).

at least that way, i'd only need to pay for 2 new tyres and can sell the 265's to make some money back.

the only thing that worries me is the potential lack of width at the back.

car also hit 80,000 miles this week. engine still feels sweet, although it runs quite lumpy on cold start-up (pops and a flatspot), so will need to look into that.

I always thought this. I thought the wear indicators were 1.6mm so when they hit it they're illegal

Some z4s come with tiny wheels. I wouldn't worry about it
What about 255?

The 235's are coming from the fronts so I don't need to shell out for 4 tyres, rather than 2.

i completely agree with you matthew, i keep going into the garage to have a look at them and everyone in work has asked why i took them off as they looked great.

my mind is being swayed towards putting the 235/35's on the rear and buying some 215/35's for the fronts, then selling the 265/30's on to cover some of the cost.

the only worry is if it still rubbed. ideally it'd need coilovers as there is quite a bit of suspension travel. drove my car in anger tonight and it felt so good not to have any worry about the tyres catching the arches.

I'd definitely fit the fronts in the rear first to see how they look and ride like. Would be a shame not to use these wheels, suits the car do much. With my previous bms I had to drop the tyre sizes to make things fit and it was unnoticeable. 235 is still a wide enough tyre and the fronts won't look out of place at all.

Takes 5 minutes to swap the wheels, get it done

I bloody hope not! Just applied the cleaner. Leaving it for an hour, should remove the black dye applied previously as it's water based.

The reviver is the hard part as it requires masking the car up, long and boring process!
