I just did a solo ride. At the bottom of one of the runs was an animal skeleton hanging from a tree, almost shat myself when I first saw it!Photo on my strava route
Just saw that. What animal is that from its mental
No idea! Freaky looking thing, I've seen plenty of deer running round there, that's the only thing I can think of

Know someone who did warranty replacement on Shimano Nic, he was without a shifter for a few weeks. Hopefully you would get yours sorted quicker.

just about to take it to the bike shop now see what they say. there is no damage to the lever, other than where the metal has cracked.

swapped it for another shifter on warranty. when i took it in the bloke said it would be end of next week by the time the parts have arrived etc. i said i think its due its service as i only bought it from them couple of months ago, which then changed the shifter being done for next week to being ready for 4pm this afternoon. nice.
got a new front axle to replace the one i used excessive force on as well. so thats the bike good to go again for tomorrow and monday when im off work. hope weather stays good.

some of your climbs look bloody steep puts my efforts to shame, my legs aren't too bad really, other than the top outside part of my right calf.

As I understand it's the conditions you use them in, wet lube for autumn/winter/spring and dry lube for the 1 week of summer we have

Wet lube also sticks better in wet conditions and lasts longer and doesn't washed easy.
But wet lube attracts dust, sand etc to it.
So yeah, wet lube winter, dry lube all dry conditions.

If it's wet, us wet lube. If it's dry, use dry lube. Or, do what I did and chuck a load of wet lube on at the beginning of last week and now have a load of filthy, oily paste to clean out of your driveline because the trails have been nice and dry/dusty

Or just sod all that marketing talk, stick some gt85 on before each ride and take your chain of and clean it after
