I think so. Especially with Taylor out he will be a good addition to the back 4.

He proved he still has it at Arse last season.

He will get shown up if he is a regular first teamer imo.

The likes of Drogba and Torres will run rings round him and his old legs!

72 goals in 182 games for Real. 27 in 47 for Spain.

228 in 550 games for Real. 44 in 102 for Spain.

Both look pretty good to me.

I don't think this will be the case. He still has a bit a pace which surprised me when I saw him last season and he gets himself in the right positions. I don't remember Barca running rings round him in the CL...

Surely he is first choice when fit though, cerainly over Wes Brown and whichever twin plays there?

This is what i'm a bit confused about. We offered a 1 year deal but he rejected it because he wanted a 2 year deal???

He's a strange guy! But he's still good enough for Prem. He's still quite quick too. I remember against Spuds last season he chased down Gareth Bale and owned him with ease. I'd have been happy to see him in an arsenal shirt this season.

Regarding Sol Campbell people seem to forget that he has recently married into to a famous North East family and set up home with his new wife in Ponteland and lets be honest why would anyone want to live in London.
