ive ridden the on-one fatty in a singlespeed set up fucking awesome fun downhill but I needed gears for the up hill but considering the size of the tyres 4" wide and the same size as a 29er overall, it rides really well

can't do image tags as i broke my keyboard, but I'm off up and down the lovely ullock pike tonight. lovely views, I've only ridden it once before so I'm hoping I'm a bit more skilled and manage to ride most of it tonight.

Cole - that's good to hear. Sometimes things turn out to be not as entertaining as they look. The On One Fatty now comes with two chainrings up front.

Smashed a KOM earlier on Strava. Been after it for a while but though it was unattainable but I've slowly been getting faster and faster on it.

Had a new experience today. My brakes sort of didn't come up to scratch. So whats the cheapest way of increasing brakes performance? I've got XT 180mm front and back (I think) fancy going up to 203mm at the front. Centerlock rotors if that matters.
Discuss...

Cheers for the name of the company.
A few of us met at Swinley tonight after work for a loop of the red and the second half of the blue. It's really dry at the moment so it's a bit skittish! Good fun as always though.
I had an off tonight which is my first in a while. I showed total commitment to the berm, sadly my bike didn't. Only a little scrape to the shin and randomly a cut inside my mouth

Anyone going to watch the tour? I'm in Kazakstan, if I was home I'd be going to watch it.

In the world of mountain bikes what benefit does a 29er give if any over one with say 26" wheels?
looking for a cheapish knocking about mountain bike which may potentially be used at the likes of Cannock chase but very rarely.
a 29er is coming out cheapest and in nicer colours.

650b
+ colour isn't everything.
Personally I would have a 26 over 29 every time, but a 650b feels better in every way over a 26.

29ers are huge - prefer my 26 downhill but ling distance the 29er is 10x better

Tour De France was awesome this weekend - Yorkshire and especially Bolton abbey did a great job organising it, atmosphere was brilliant, food and drink was a reasonable price and even the weather was epic ... Great weekend!

Heading to Morzine in couple of weeks, just put my bike back together after having sent shock and fork away for services and replacing bottom bracket and bearings. Decided to mess around with a little app I got on my phone whilst putting it back together!

Right then, I posted recently regarding a road bike, had a change of mind where budget is concerned and I'm gonna go new upto £600ish. Got these 3 in mind, what do people think?

Also, what people recommend as a decent set of pedals? Does anybody know of someone who could get me a deal on a bike? Needs to be west kids or free shipping.
Cheers
