Why do you think VTEC kicks in at 6k?
Its because at near enough this point that the High cam starts to make more power than the low cam..
If you take a standard car and drop the VTEC to 4k, then between 4 and 6k you will be making LESS power than if you were running on the low cam..
Once you start modding thou changing the VTEC engagement point can help..
On my Prelude with Exhaust/filter/VAFC Rolling road mapping of the VAFC showed that the best place for VTEC changover was 4700rpm. Instead of the 5100rpm standard.
Between 4700 and 5100 I gained like 10bhp.
If you dropped it to 3k you would be making less power, thou it sounds nice

ive done ninety in my 1L i did 95 in my 1.1 metro haha thats cse i hated it and i didnt care tht was topped out and it stank afterwards lol

now if i remember right the 14xe did it in just over 8 seconds once (just had full exhaust, fiddled with inlet and induction kit) (oh also a lot of clutch slipping so it didnt spin up)
and i haven't try'd the redtop yet. but im thinkning in the reagon of the 6 second mark

Best 0-60mph I got in the corsa was 4.92 seconds and 0-100mph of around 8 seconds.
The TVR should do the 0-60 slightly quicker but slower on the 0-100mph.
