I was rudely awoken this morning too. Was staying at g/f's who lives about 3 miles from the site.
Both her parents work in the industrial estate so it looks like they might not have an office left (no information of exact damage yet).
It sounded like an aeroplane crashed into next door or something! Loft hatch was blown out and the whole house shook...

its a very scarey sight - i live near middlesbrough and it just makes me realise - what would happen around here if we had a accident like this.
we have got one of the biggest chemical sites ad also a nuclear power plant very close to each other.

Queues were going right back down the roads when I left Hemel this morning & some petrol stations were shut when I got back in the afternoon. I can still see it on fire now. Didn't go to work tonight & apparently all our windows have gone & theres some internal damage to our building.

yea, i was still awake then,
it was 6.05am!
i seem to feel every local disaster
the earthquake that's epicenter was up north somewhere (b'ham maybe)
the bbc studio bombing in white city
and now this explosion!
i knew it wasn't an earthquake as the duration of the boom/tremmer was too short,
i honestly thought there was a bomb on my street the blast was that strong, my whole house shook!! I switched to sky news immediately, and it took about 3 minutes for the breaking news to appear!
I live NW London, mill hill!
some people in kent felt it, but no way peeps in holland/france felt/heard it!

Rather than queue about 5000 million hours today for fuel, I decided to get up an hour earlier than usual at 5am to purchase petroleum for my vehicle.
Got to Tesco petrol station in Cowley (Oxford) about 6.50am and there was about 15 cars queuing up...
Oh well at least I have fuel til wednesday now!

I can't believe there are idiots out there that panic buy and live & work locally for example; I have to fill up my tank every time I go to a servo because I have an 80 mile round trip to work each day presently! This country is full of gays!
