Whats the benefits of making the compartment in the boot?Could you not just mount it using brackets?
For rallying, anything fuel related can't actually be inside the car, hence the reason for building the fireproof (eventually) cell for the pumps to sit in!

Yes, Weber 40DCOEs. Used them when the engine was in the Nova! Possibly considering 45s next year when the engine is built to a higher spec.

Hmmm, may do! I'll probably think about that nearer the time as I need to get her up and running first!

UPDATE: 14th May '07
Finally got round to doing some more work on the rally car today (about time too I hear you say), so less of the chat and more pics:
First thing, mounted my tripmeter where it will eventually sit:
Then finally mounted the spoiler to the bootlid (all fibreglass items):
Then mounted the bonnet pins to the car and drilled holes in the boot:
Just need some new catches for the top as my bonnet pin idea won't work at the top due to the spoiler being in the way :
Then measured, cut and bent a panel for the centre of the dash:
Marked all the bits out on it:
Then cut out all necessary holes and fitted the gauges, cut out switch and extinguisher pull:
Finally the dash is starting to take shape! New panel just needs a good polish and it'll look as good as new!
And how I left this evening after trial fitting the co-drivers seat aswell!
And to finish off, next Monday (21st) interior will be sprayed, and by the 4th June at the latest it WILL be orange!!!!
Watch this space..................

UPDATE: 21st May 2007
I promised you it would have the interior painted today, and I didnt lie! I spent more than half of the day wet and drying the floor, cage and roof and then my dad put some lovely gloss white on, and quite a few coats (and 5 litres later) its finally sprayed and we can start motoring with this build.
Piccies:
Spraying in process (and this wasn't easy around the cage!!)
While we were painting, I wiped down the rear arches and got some paint on them aswell:
Pile of bits and pieces removed from the car:
And pretty much how I left it tonight:
So now, time to get the exterior painted........but will it be the colour I originally planned for?! Only time will tell!!!!
