What can you buy thats better than a 106?

How much is the new Type R? Couple of people have mentioned they prefer that but they are different classes of car really?

Steve is just being a fanny, Vauxhall are starting to get things right in terms of their performance range of cars which are all ahead of their competitors i.e Renault, Honda, Ford, Peugeot and he hates it
Its pathetic really.

But the Corsa isn't in the same class as the CTR, the Astra is.
Should compare the Corsa to say, the 'Jazz TypeR'
EDIT: Joe beat me to it

Type-R is Astra/Focus/Megane range. Hot Hatches.
Corsa VXR is, Clio 197, Pug 107 , Mini Cooper S, Fiesta ST, range of cars. Superminis.

So you want a standard 1.6 family hatch. You look at the Civic and Astra. You then decide you want a hot version and realise you shouldn't be looking at the Civic, but the Integra instead? Wrong imo.
There is NO Honda car that is in the same class as all the hot, small hatches (i.e. Corsa, Clio & Punto)

I beg to differ about the 107 - more the 207 - that is the small hot hatch.
The 107 is small city car which competes against Toyota Aygo etc. Vauxhall don't have a car in that class.

I said 107 as a laugh. 207 GTi with the turbo lump could fall into the Astra/Civic/Megane/Focus class though.

Surely the 307 would fall into that class?
Remember, the 207 is same as the 206, the 307 same as 206 in terms of class. They are just slightly bigger now, because all cars are getting bigger.

The seats are really nice, comfy & squidgy yet supportive.
I did mention earlier that I'm not big enough to fill them up but I can imagine them being really really comfortable.
I adjusted the seat to the driving position I'd have, then the steering wheel and it was a really nice position and the seats felt comfortable enough then.
I would.

Someones sent me an email about this post.
This guy knows his modern Vauxhalls as well as i know my Corsas, so i'll take anything he says to be the truth. His car is also used by 1 of the major tuning firms as a demo/developer car....
I was going to quote bits, but im on a timescale here, things to do, dogs and cats to see
(please note the brake size, then think of the usual Corsa/Nova larger upgrade......). They must be awful...
"as for the brakes they are a 308mm vented disk up front with a larger caliper, the reason for being blue again is cost, as being built in an opel factory they can dictate those small things on being cost effective, as for upgrades, there is going to be the AP's as per the astra, possibly 343mm vented disk and 4 pots but in saying that the standard more than does the job for a 190ps powerplant, brembos as standard would push the price up and its intended to undercut the clio 197.
Mind you the new leon cupra was meant to have brembos fitted as standard but where found not to be up for the job so the R32 single pots with larger disks brought in and are much better for that car over the 4 pot brembos.
Diffuser was found to creat down pressure during wind tunnel testing so its more than just a bolt on, i seen all the range colour range a couple of weeks ago and it is a well put together little, well not so little anymore car which will most probably out handle a standard set up astra through the twists and bends, the recaros are most impressive and more supportive than what we have fitted in the astra,
my wife has ordered one in black which in this range is the colour to go for
you can put any of that info up to shut this Steve up as he really has no idea what he is on about, more so it appears he may be a tad jealous he isn't getting one to be slagging it off so much without coming across one"
Amen Mr VXR owner...

Yeah I thought the seats look more supportive than the Astra ones, I wonder if they will become avaliable in the Astra?
