mark-- c16xe costs a lot to tune, where as a set of carbs on a 8v is a lot easy'r to work on.
the engine has a blydstien head and is possibly camm'd so about 110bhp ish being it weighs gib all should be fun

the fuel tank was of ebay iirc

well today made a little progress, between helpin chris and doing mine.

i tapped a thread into the head for the egr port. and then found a bolt that fitted, cut it down a bit and added some firegum and a sump washer to seal it good

tap

bolt in egr port

then i fitted the exhaust manifold

then i cut the hole in the egr port on the inlet manifold gasket bigger to accomodate the blank bolt, and fitted up the inlet

and then i made a gasket up and fitted the cut down crankcase breather pipe to the back of the engine., no pics as it went dark

engine bay looks pretty cool.... a tiny engine though What sort of power are you aiming for on it (1.6 8v isnt it?)

120-130bhp ish.

yup 1.6 8v

its a decent start car, once im used to it, the whole front end was strenghtend, so if need be dropping a bigger engine in is no problem, and as far as i can see the coolent system swaps over pretty much, so do the hubs/mount and thats all is needed
