Spent a few hours on the Corsa today in between an oil and filter change on a a mates car.
Decided to remove the sound deadening after speaking with Stu last night, tbh it's something I didn't even think of doing.
Before:
Mid Process:
After:
It's only a very small area removed at the minute due to time restaints, Aldo ground back a few scabs of rust and covered with zinc primer.
That's what has been removed so far, It feels quite heavy already. I'm going to fill the box with all the deadening I remove and weigh it to see how much is lost.
Grabbed a quick pic of the car on it's spare wheels that'll be tarted up once the 16's are painted and fitted.
Started on the speedo binacle: What do people think to the colour?

Well spotted that man
I did fancy one of those carbon fibre covers but thought they look cheap.
I've got a can of Vauxhall steel grey in the garage so will try that with a set of aluminum rings. If I don't like it then i'll try it in the same Anthricite colour that the wheels are going.

Carpets and foam are staying though. I like my luxuries but can live with a bit more road noise for the weight it'll save.
Whilst stripping the deadening I did ponder on the idea of no rear seats

Hi build to get rid of the slight rippled texture the binnacle has.

Ah right. Colour just looked more like filler primer than high build.
ie. filler as in plastic filler.

Well it is Halfords filler primer, It's not specifically for plastics.

Yes, i always assumed it to be filler primer as in the stuff you smooth bodywork with.

That's the stuff but as the binnacle is rigid and won't flex i'll get away with this instead of plastic primer.

Well spotted
They're the wheels Stavs has on his Corsa C. They're going a similar colour to the binnacle.
