Yeah I much prefer it as it is now, especially knowing underneath it all is rust free
From the experience of doing this, I reckon if you're going to strip a car to lose weight, don't just half ass it. Do a 'jr'

Just fitted myself one of these:
Had to get meself one after I read about mark lawton ripping one out of a Tigra
Stuck down in place with trusty halfords velcro coins
Nice place to keep the mobile
Looks a tidy addition, just like the dash mat

it will probably hold CD's but on closer inspection looks like cassettes fit snug

Might be able to get away with a hairdryer to heat the glue to remove the strips.
Not sure where you can get a toffe wheel drill attatchment from. I wouldn't attempt it any other way, the glue is a bitch to get off.

could bug nd tar remover do it as i done that with my badges it might not take as long if i put in some elbow grease

I have a heat gun and managed to rip a load of laquer off I wasn't fussed though as it was going in the bodyshop anyway
