Hey all, just saying g'day from down under.
This car seems to be the hot topic at the moment, and we're all keen to see any updates/pics/videos that are available.
Cheers
Dan
*big smiles* and thanks again for the fantastic feedback- we really appreciate it
Things has been going abit slow lately, mostly due to some slow suppliers - of machining i cannot do myself...
One day I would like to have a full machine park myself!!!!
Some more details fitted on the rear push rod suspension :
And a close up of the left side :
One more shiot before final welding inside the wheel arch :
When you see this front in your mirror it is most likely time to pull over and have a coffe break, ferrari, lamborghini or whatever you drive...this old ford is going to be a tough one.. ;-P
A good night to all of you , AND - see you @ gods kitchen for ASOT 400 in birmingham on friday!!! 8-D

A small but very neccesary mod had to be done.. :
You take a 1100hp capable ford cobra diff :
Remove the rubber bushing it hangs in at the rear :
Replace it with a nylon one :
And fit a steel bracing that remedy the one known weak link in the diff - the lid cracking up :
And suddenly, you have a diff that handles , alooot more...
Them welds are a dogs dinner.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
Haha, shure did - I'm a survior you know
Well yeah, mostly been doing small bits, wires and boring stuff not of much picture value...
BUT, the lower front suspension arms needed some attention...they simply looked far to UGLY to deserve a final assembly to the car...
So we made a jig on the workshop iron table and got to work..
After a few hours we could start comparing a std. arm to the new ones...
Picture of the final build after all welding will follow... =)
Good night to ya'all =)

Glenny boy: Clever?? erhm....i really don't know how clever it is to build a race/street car out of a granada and at this level, but thanks anyway
Oh yeah....you constantly enconter new challenges in theese kind of builds..
It was supposed to be an easy task, to modify the front hubs from 5x112 to 5x114.3
So I take out all the studs, machine a ring to center a rear break disc to align the for drill of the new bolt circle and weld the original holes for the studs.
For those of you unfamiliar to the granada, the brake disc sits on the rear side of the hub not the front as on most other cars - hence the 5 holes closer to the centre , wich are the ones bolting the disc to the hub.
Original hub to the right, modded one to the left :
I buy the best drill money can buy and som lubricant to further ease up the job..
BUT, and I was not aware of this..., bcoz when you weld in cast-iron as the hubs are, you create a mix of materials that goes super hard , harder than 12.9 steel i am now made aware of...
So the drill job was suddenly a big challange and the whole idea of doing this was scrapped.
I then aquire 2 "new" hubs and look at the idea of offset drilling the orginial holes, but eventually this as well is not a solution I can live with , from a pure technical point of view.
Instead we are now in the process of making two brand new hubs ourselves, we have made som many other special one-off's for the car so why not two brand new hubs as well...
A litte glimse of the front suspension as good as complete, and is destined to work miles better than the previous(modded original) solution. It looks reeeeally good as well, and we don't complain about that either
Some more snacks..
After a few layers of clear paint(??) and this part will look totally right , and will be the only outside visual part of the car that gives some hint of what is actually hiding within - an original ford RS rear wing made up in pure carbon fibre..
Stay tuned

Thanks Stevie
We just had to make them
We have been busy again, but bit by bit is turning more and more into a car , and we dont have a constant flow of neccesary fabrications...
Who could believe that this was the underside of a 1982 granada...
Engine fitted, and this time it is supposed to be there permament for a while..
Bonnet test fitted, so now we know clearences and can tig the wastegates into positon , and the top lid of the inlet manifold.
have a nice saturday night everybody , party hard!!
