well i think as exciting as it sounds im going to go clean the inside of the corsa out ready for some drag strip acton tomorrow and monday. i thought that would be more interesting than jack osbourne.

What exactly are you clearing out? Last time I cleared mine I found a fiver, about literally 10 irn blu glass bottles and various poly bags and general back of the motor/ under the seats shite.

various bits of junk. old golden virginia wrappers i throw on the floor etc and some random tools i left in it. all ready to go now though. waiting on my mate coming round. yes, i have mates. well, 3 of them.
irn bru do a red bull style energy drink dont they? wonder if carlilse shell garage sells it. its called a number i think. like 17 or something.

Should have taken a MIG up with you and welded it there and then.
240v converter in the car and you'd be sorted

because the shaft had snapped, with the end that had snapped off inside the cv joint. i put pics up in my project thread. its fixed now, fitted a calibra shaft to it. took it back out on drag strip this afternoon. did a 12.2 in the damp and wind and stuff which aint bad, best bit was its terminal speed which was 131mph. well happy about that.

That's a cracking terminal speed mate. Last time I was at Crail And Gallagher's focus was hitting about that, you must be pleased with that. What's your best quarter mile to date?
Was the CV salvageable then?

12.0 is the quickest ive done. 12.1 on sunday at kirkbride, but thats when shaft snapped just as times were getting faster typically.
could probably get the end of the shaft out the cv joint. havent tried tbh as the calibra one i got off my mate had both cv's on so just fired it in.

Didn't want to start a thread about this in General chat cos I know about 6 people would just go on what the first post in the topic said and I already know what Corsasport's answer to this question is. Thought I might get some real answers here... I was up the arse of one of these last night for about 4-5mins, starting to close the gap as we got nearer to the top end:
Only black and very standard looking, had a WRX badge on the boot and a spoiler with the same wheels as the picture. Was on a motorway and it looked like the guy was going for it.
Did the Impreza driver have a mental disability or is my XE as quick/ nearly quicker than an '06 WRX?

if it was a uk one. i think theyre about 260bhp that shape. so on the open road once moving ie corsa has grip, yeah id imagine it be real close. so id say yes, corsa as quick as a 06 plate wrx.
imagine the flaming that post would get in general chat. all the "id rather have an impreza" etc. losers.
