i wouldnt say it needs doing desperately tbf, its a 26 year old car so can get away with it, also how vw and rat look goes aswell, i mean if it was a newer car and had rust then its a different matter..
anyways..
sorting the stance out first as its not low enough and not looking sitting right..
then will be some interior changes..
then i will start to sort out the bits of bodywork which need doing, ie front panel..

I WANT MORE LOWZ!!!!
planning on lowering my mk1 even lower, the coilovers have lowered it -120mm as they are stated to do.. (but have measured and they have)
at the moment, rear is 120mm and fronts are about 100mm..
the wishbone mounts are about 1.3w" off the floor, which is this much..
............................
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
............................
they have made contact a few times now on the floor and small raises in the road..
and the rear tyres catch the rear arch even though ive tooked them up and trimmed the plastic arches..
but i want more lowz!!!
hopefully my new tyres and camber shims will be here soon 175/50/14 on an 8j wheel (for the rears) to get me some more clearance on the rear..
also im going to trim the wishbone mounts to get me a few more mill clearance..
then plan to take the fronts all the way down (120mm) and remove the helper springs (in the coilovers) to take it aroud 130mm, but the front will sit a touch lower..
im hoping to keep around an inch clearance underneath..

there fine, the ride is good imo for how low it is, loads better then the cheap FK coilovers that i had on my grey corsa, but cant compare them tbh as its obviously on different cars..
for the corsa there front coilovers and rear shock and spring like most, so not adjustable all round..
i bought mine for £169 posted, not in the group buy but i just said that im off the golf mk1 owners club and they said thats fine rrp £200, but they wasnt here on time so i complained and got £25 refunded so that owe me £144 which obviously is awsome price for a set of coilovers..

for sure mate, I just can see them being absolutely terrible, I've had 1k coilovers and can notice right away the gaz ones I fitted weere budget (400 quid) just by the look of the kit and how it feels on the road!!

i could have spent 1k on coilovers, but for the sake of £144 which these cost me brand new posted to my door there perfect, easily good enough to live with, lower the car alot, overall not a bad ride, decent build quality and 2 years warranty..
i knew which i would rather have tbh for my car, if it was a serious track car then yer i would of 100% chucked more money at the suspension..

i think i used the same coilovers on my 1.3 mk2 golf and they were fine for what i wanted.. ie just go low, drove ok tbh untill i wound them down about as far as they would go. then it was bumpy as a mofo .. but looked pimp
