For the record, most people use BCP7EVX or BKR7EIX. I am using BKR7EIX's at the moment but had a problem with them fouling up too easy. Cleaned them off and not had the same problem since but have bought some BCP7EVX's and left them in the door pocket just incase I get issues again.

I only ever use singles anyway. The way I've always thought about it and a few others is, if a plug has more than one side electrode is that its generally a naff plug so needs the extra electrode to make a proper spark. Just my view on things so might be wrong but heard the same sorta thing for a few people that used to tune up cars and race them.

Err I think so. Will go check now for you. The EIX's are though.
EDIT: Yeah the EVX's do have a single side electrode.

You're welcome, just gap your current plugs first and that should solve the problem. Just change them when you get the chance.

Also neil if your gaps dont sort the problem then check the pump dude! ive had loads of problems on previous aspirated motors where it miss's on a certain psi.and its normally fuel pressure/injectors the 200 miss'd before i put the correct heat range of plugs in tho... so tbh the plugs will proberly sort the problem

You lads are stars .
Got the proper plugs today and gapped them as you told me, put them in and its sweet as a nut, very happy.
Just gotta run it in steadily now to let the rings settle in etc.
What do u lot reckon about how long i shud run it in, wat sorta revs i can safely take it to etc?
Once again cheers all

when i ran my let in mate i actually took the pipe off the actuator blocked that up to make sure no boost pressure was made, then warmed it up cooled it down etc etc did 1500 miles before i kicked its head in lol! with 2 oil changes and running in oil.never over 3500 revs and motorway miles dont really count as theres basically no torque when driving at 70 all day

Right then people, Picked up some BCP7EVX's today and stuck them in, the 8's (cant remeber the full code) ive took out clean them up and keep them for spare.
Dropped the oil and used fresh stuff as ive bin told to do and changed my rotor arm as they gave me the wrong part before.
Finally i also resealed the front exhaust flange to manifold as i didnt have the jointing paste to hand when i built it back up.
So far im loving it managed to run in about 250 miles so far.
Once its all ran in and settled down im going to be putting it on the rollers and maybe, just maybe run it at the pod at the fast show on the 21st march

Its gone bad on me yet again.
It was running for like 5 days and then all of a sudden clunked and started knocking its head off while i was granny shifting around.
Ive no been on here or bothered with it cus its pissed me off once again :@
Any way, got the patience levels back up to take a look at it. Did a compression test and the 2nd cylinder in was dead . Whipped the sump off to find a hundered peices of ally in there, ooops lol.
Found out that its the liner out of the 2nd cylinder (the only cylinder to have been lined before) Had shattered and was all in the bottom of the sump therefore lose of compression and knocking .
Sourced myself a c20xe cheap thow so i can use that block and send it away to be matched to my pistons properly. Oh well ey lol

Finally got my arse back into gear now and started to sort the LET out agen,
Heres the donor XE i brought for the block and handy for spares
Fully stripped the block down to check that this 1 hadnt been lined and sent it off to be rebored to my +0.5mm oversized pistons
Me and the old boy then took the LET out of the corsa once we could both get into the mood to do it lol
Heres the old xe block once it had been rebored and the oil return tapping taped into the side of the block.
The nakered block is now strriped to and ready to be built back up on the new 1 just waiting on my new piston rings set to arrive from steveboyslim.
Will keep up to date on progress again as from now lol.

Nice bit of progress now then people
Fitted the new rings to my pistons and re-fitted them to the newly bored block, head gaskits also in place ready for the head to be fitted.
Then got the head on aswell as all the cam belt tensioners, alternator, sensors etc.
Then i fitted the new cam belt and timed it all corectly, fitted the cam belt cover and rocker cover. Just got to fitt the gearbox before lifting it back into the corsa . Getting there
Cheers for looking, il hopefully have more progress soon

Well its been a long time since ive posted but there has been some progress.
After speaking to my dad and his mate they said it'll be best to have the crank reground and new big and main bearings as ive gone as far as i had while the engines still out. I thought this was a good idea and as my crank was already maxed out i sent the crank out of my donor xe to be reground and had new gylco mains and big end bearings
Heres the crank after coming home from being reground, red stuff is just a protectant:
And the new 0.25mm glyco big ends and main bearings
Also been picking bits and bobs up along the way from pvs, and the billing vaux show:
New badgeless grill, as i broke mine
Chrome manifold heatshield
90mm rear springs
3mm spacers
Opel/ gm mudflaps
Will be making more progress soon people
