Where did you get the LEDs from for yours.
Dont have the problem with the clocks but i think the one with the MFD is because they are too long.

Pretty chuffed with how the shelf turned out. Cost me around £20 to do the shelf aswell so a bit of a bargain!
A local company wanted £70 to do one like it so i thought i'd try it myself!
Heres the results. Its a set of Planet Audio 6x9's with an alpine amp (Can't remember what model, Its a 250w 2 channel amp though!)
The under side
The bit you see
Did it in black to match the interior as it had a grey shelf in it origionally!

Had the drivers door repainted to match (As it was off colour) along with the rear bumper.
Sadily the door has reacted pretty badily as it was water based paing going onto some type of shitty acrylic. My dad (Who has repainted it, Don't worry it's his trade, He aint no overnight wannabe like the person who painted it before!) is going totry and wet sand it and buff it up tomorrow (He is sure it will!). Will get some pics of it tomorrow in the light.
Spending has stopped for the minute as insurance and tax is due. Just selling some of the standard parts i have accuired off to spend on some more mods!

Replaced the centre console with a half silver one and finished off the dash LEDs. In the end i went for red in the MFD and heater controls, And white in the dials (Has a slight tint of blue to it), Also did the interior lighting with some white LEDs.

Just got hold of a set of CDT Front component speakers and a set of rear Focal components plus all the wiring, wiring harness and speaker adapters. Will stick them in at the weekend.
Just on the lookout for a decent set of rear speakers now as they are popped aswell!

Finally got around to fitting the components into the front and rear of the car.
Fronts were a peice of piss to fit. The adapters worked perfectly!
Sadily the rears wasn't as straight forward. Ended up hacking away at the adapters but they ended up useless in the end as there was nowhere to screw the speaker to. Ended up making the hole in the door round and making some adapters up out of MDF. Didn't take any pics as i had been at it most of the day and just wanted to get it done!
The end result.... Perfect crisp sound with no vibrations or distortion
Got a bit of a bargain with the speakers, Got in total £450 of speakers (The 6x9's, front and rear components and the amp and wiring kit) for under £150 for everything!
Also, My wind deflectors turned up this morning, But with all the messing around i didn't manage to fit them today. Will do them first thing in the morning!

Most boring update!
Decided to give the car a really good clean today, Which ment wheels off and do the underneath, Wheel arches and inside the wheels. Also gave the door shuts under the bonnet a good scrub aswell. Then washed, clayed and then polished and waxed the whole car.
Heres some pics of it.
Kind of gave up taking pics as i just wanted to get it done in the end

Just looking for a decent set cheap. They seem to go for £300+ lately.
Really wanted GSI snowflakes but i don't think they would suit a 5 door!

Didn't want to put posts up for each small mod, So saved them up!
Fitted a CD holder into where the cubby hole in the dash was.
Also fitted a sunglasses holder to the drivers side where the grab handle should be.
Was searching ebay for some ideas and came across these genuine vauxhall headlight protectors. Thought why not!
Looking out for a set of SRI turbo alloys now and trying to find a decent sub setup for the boot. Can't decide weather to have the windows tinted or not yet!

Had an idea last night.
Was getting sick of the sun coming through over the rear view mirror so decided to do something about it.
Remembered that VWs had a smaller visor flap over the mirror so went into the scrappys this morning and got one out of a Passat.
Had to cut the lugs off it and file it all flat. Then used some double sided tape and a screw with a speed clip.
All fittted. Some people used some black vynil but i decided to use one of these as i think it looks more factory!

After having the car broken into, I have decided to de-lock the boot. (As they have bumped the lock in the boot somehow!)
Went to the scrapyard today and got hold of a few bits I needed. Got a Daewoo Nexia boot latch (As its the same as the Astra one, But only has one latch on it) A solenoid off the Nexia and a new boot handle to smooth out the hole.
Just got to figure out how to wire it all in now, Looking around at alarms at the minute. Torn between the Toad Ai606 and the Clifford Concept 370. Just trying to get a good deal on one!

After looking around for which switch would look something like a factory fit, And would be easy-ish to fit where i want it, I went for one out of a Saab 9-5.
Also ordered a 5 pin relay and fuse holder. Will be wiring it all up at the weekend if all goes well!
Also after a little mishap with parking on a hill and finding out the rear calipers had seized up solid, I got hold of a reconditioned set of GM rear calipers.
Just waiting on Disks and pads and can get them all fitted!

Do you think that cd holder would fit into any old single din hole?
My ibiza has a double din slot and that would be ideal instead of the big tray thing there

Think it may, Because the radios on the MK4 Astra can be fitted either in the hole where the cd holder is or where it is as standard.

Spent all day putting in the boot popper. Didn't get any pics as its is all just basically a load of wires and me swearing alot!
Going to start on smoothing out the boot lock on another boot handle tomorrow. Prepped it al up, mainly took all the paint off where i will be filling it and sanded out a few blemishes in it.
Still looking into a good alarm. Don't want to be buying a peice of expensive tat!
