Not many places really! Most are an hour + away from me.
Depends what youre after, i go over to Coed Llandegla alot in wrexham, there are 4 different graded trails that are pretty decent.
Then theres places like Grizedale, Whinlatter, Cwm Carn (cant spell) Penmach (still cant spell!)
Or theres smaller places like Delamere etc

Used to go round Haigh hall a fair bit.
Only just getting back into it, so mostly just mooching local roads, fields etc
Gonna try & get a bit more adventurous when the weather starts to improve

Just ordered one of these
Think i may have chose the wrong frame size though. looked at a few guides and went for a 19, im 6ft and 33 inside leg. thinking a 17 or 18 would have been a safer bet?

I was up at Glentress last weekend, for the first time and it's a right laugh! The DH sections are awesome and so are the trails. Same can't be said for my bike a 2003 model Trek 3500, pretty much knakered it after a full days riding.
Also, watch out for the rear mech on that Santa Cruz (if its a Sram one)! One of the lads snapped it off on the freeride park after doing several jumps

Whats it like for getting the power down?
whats the reason you'd have wanted the bigger frame?
I'm just worried about wrapping my nuts off the frame, i had a very bad experience when i was younger

its spot on for getting power down, the reason i wanted summat a little bigger was, when i was going up a well steep hill i was finding it hard to keep to front end down, i managed to solve it abit by changing the bars and stem, but after a bit of research i found it was the frame size.
you'll be fine, i can stand over the cross bar and theres still plenty of room for my nads

I need to get some DMR pedals for my bike. I've trashed the hell out of the ones I've got and dont want clipless pedals as I like to bail out quickly in the event of a crash

yer they are fine, any platforms ones are gonna be better than plastic ones, just on the DMR ones you can replace the pins if you ever loose any

ive got V8's on my kona and V12's on my santa cruz, cannot fault them i was looking for SPD's but i do alot of single track routes with jumps and drops etc and i dont really wanna be attatched to the bike if i need to bail in a hurry
