I disbelieve most of what I read about this -
It was started by some regular people - how do you know? Could be an executive decision by some people who want to make money.
It won't make Cowell any money. Really.
'It is understood that there is a 10% margin in sales between the two singles after Sunday and Monday. ' (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8413557.stm) - Well isn't that exactly exactly what Dermot O'Leary said on the live show, only for McElderry to win by a proportion of 2 to 1?
If they were neck and neck before the break, how did half as many votes again come in and NONE for the other guy during 8 minutes of adverts.
These 'battles' are just to get the public interested, and when the public are interested, they spend money.
Joe vs the other guy = votes = money
Joe vs RATM = sales = money
You're naive to think otherwise.

Gotta love the irony of "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" when everyone is doing exactly that, being told to buy one of the other, and going ahead and doing it. Marvellous.
Hope RATM gets to no.1 tho obviously

I dont like either song, or particularly care about xmas No1's. However I do think Joe's quite talented. Modern day Freddy Mercury. Sure he got his break from a talent competition but so what plenty others have & are now massive successes. Once he gets this poop song out the way I reckon he will do ok & release something half decent. I wont buy his stuff but it will appeal to someone.
You've got the option not to watch it after all if your not interested!!!
That RATM song is just drose, it would give me a sare head if I listened to it all the way through.

RATM are a band that influenced rock music in a massive way by creating a unique sound and specificly campaigning against alot of social and domestic problems in the US alot of which is relevant to most western countries.
Im all for horses for courses and all that, but seriously how can anyone NOT like it?! Did you actually listen to the music? Played by real people with hearts and brains?
RATM fucking rule. Pure and simples
Joe? Who? Singing songs in the same way other brainless fuckwits have been for years, that he didnt write and has no creative input for.
Stick him on a fucking cruise ship where he belongs and sink the fucking thing
Xfactor is another evil in our celebrity obbssesed 15minutes of fame tv dinner lifestyle society.

The single is from 1992. Its not on CD in stores anymore.
You more than likely would find it in a decent record shop.

Rage have been going for 18 years. Eighteen! If that lad for X-Factor is still remotely involved in the music industry in 18 years I'll eat my own cooking

If downloading was free and I could be bothered, I might do it, but I doubt it. I can't really see the point.
I would have downloaded this though if it was free and counted towards Gallup Chart recognised record sales (which downloads shouldn't).
Downloading isn't free though so I never download anything.
I own the album and have done so for longer than I can remember so don't need to buy one/any track from the album in any format anyway.
That said, I sincerely hope that enough people with surplus cash do download it enough times as it is one of my favourite songs and it would be lovely for a Christmas number one to have the word 'killing' in the title.
It would also be nice to see how the BBC would deal with the Christmas day TOTP, especially after George Michael swore on Radio 2 yesterday evening at peak time and then the Rage boys made an appearance on Radio 5Live this morning and were cut off for singing it uncut.
Oh and just to clarify, The Sex Pistols are Punk. Rage Against The Machine are not.

A lady friend of mine is really into her ancient music. She accompanies her guitarist husband as well as singing 18th century choral and folk stuff, but she normally gives us all a rendition of ''Killing in the name of'' at our Boxing Day Jam.
She'll be chuffed to bits if it hits number one I would have thought.
