Just heard them say on the news that some members of the public were asking why cant the planes fly at 1500ft, under the ash, like Cessna's etc can.

haha. people are morons.

Just found out that the flights we were meant to be on from 950 this morning have officially been cancelled now, which means we have to re-arrange, which would be fine if it was just a holiday. BUT.

We've got to be out there for Friday for my girlfriends brothers wedding, that was the whole point of the holiday.

Now we were meant to be flying from Manchester, and they only fly on fridays, so that's no use, but there seems to be flights from Gatwick on the tuesday, so now need to phone them tomorrow morning to try and get transferred to Gatwick for tuesday, and then see if they can extend our hotel rooms till the tuesday as they currently run out on the friday.

Fun times, and all due to a massive freak event that hasn't occured before in our lifetime, and probably won't for a long time now either.

But it's better than trying to fly and having the engines fail I guess.
