Are you serious. It became cool around 3-4 years ago, since then everybody has jumped on the white bandwagon. Now everytime i see a white car and the driver thinking their the bollock's i just cringe.

The Focus RS isnt going to go up in value for a long time. It'll be a 15k Ford in a couple of years.

Not everyone buys a car on the basis of making/saving money on it tho adam.
Look at the top end audis/mercs there top end cars like the rs4/amg are worth a hell of a lot less now than they first were but its because there great drivers cars people will buy them.
Yea its a ford and a focus hatchback at that with a lairy kit and fast engine but at the end of the day the escort cossie/RS turbo is basically the same but because of the following people will pay good money for them.
Its all down to personal preference at the end of the day

i was behind a FRS the other week...and it really reinforced the fact that they look horrible. Its f'kin MASSIVE! I know they are quick...and pretty rare, but i really think the ST is a more tasteful car. Looks less brash, doesnt look like a roller skate (unless you want to spend on suspension) and is still a very capable car! The money you save you could throw into mods and make it a properly quick car for the same money.
or...a mk1 FRS...they are gorgeous. Personally though an RST S1 or RS1600i eclipses them all. Proper car.
However...remember its your money and your life. Other people cant guide you if thats what you want. If thats what you want...and your situation allows, dont question...just do.

M3's on PH's now asking for £18750ono. Which compared to others on there its a good price. Im prepared to wait & also prepared to haggle so we'll see what happens.

Well ive just paid off the finance on my car & stuck it on PH's so unless my name is Jizzio De Slaver then this is not a piss take.

House is a more or less finished, few hundred quid will finish the back garden & thats it. Already spend £k's on it so far so not wanting/needing to do any more.

Why not wait for better second hander to come up on the focus ..... I feel stupid buying new cars for less than 20k ..... I think I would cry if I lost 10k on a focus ina couple of years.
If I was you I would buy a mint megane r26 - sell it in a year for the same money you bought it for ... then look at a low milage focus for a good price.
I love the look of the focus ... having driven it -its very very good ..... but I dont think its much better on a daily basis than a megane for a fraction of the price .
If you however have your heart set on something silly .... then I salute you and enjoy it - your likely to end up with one hell of a machine

I wont be keeping this for a couple years though I dont think, so shouldnt loose too much, if I can get one for 25k-ish & keep it 12-18 months I cant see me loosing 10k? There over 30k now for the spec I want & the factorys just stopped building them. I recon it will hold a while then start to drop off gradually.
Megane - just dont like the look of them, or VXR's, this is the only 'hot hatch' I like.
Yep ive made up my mind its got to be a Green FRS. Just need to flog the Bimmer (got 4 weeks off before im back to work) & then find the right car, searching uk wide, I want 59/10 plate Ultimate Green with minimum spec of Lux pack 1 & leather!!
Im excited!!
