The 1.9 cdti 8v (120ps) is suppose to be the next best engine from the the 150ps ones and that also does not have the swirl flaps.

Warren - as I said over u2u I'm on my iPhone (small screen) and pressed the wrong button.
I had a 1.7 for years and it was faultless.
If you worked at Vauxhall repairing them then surely you'll see a lot of problems. I bet they're only a tiny percentage of 1.7s sold.

I don't care for problems, we will get one that has Network Q warranty and have Warren our local friendly technican to look after it.

Bought one subject to it being ok
Silver 1.4 16v SXi, 10k on the clock 57 plate.
I went and drove a 90bhp 1.3CDTi and it was fucking awful, truely horrendous power delivery and stupidly laggy.
So drove a 1.2 16v, not much slower than than the 1.3 CDTi in a straight line but linear power delivery and they had a 1.4 16v in our price range in the colour we wanted and car tax and fuel consumption is around the same as the 1.2 so went for it.

Yes, the way the car will be driven and the extra cost of diesel and the higher purchase price of a diesel car meant it won't be much cheaper to run a 1.3CDTI. Oh and they drive like shit.
This car was too good to refuse with the low miles and price and being the right colour as well.

White only looks good on the ones with the VXR styling pack, although we haven't seen the one we bought as it's down in Exeter so it might have the kit on, not overally bothered either way.

it's not too bad if it's from a dealer, as you have 7 days to change your mind, from what i read.

Indeed. I put a holding deposit down at a dealer on my Astra having only seen interweb pictures. If it wasn't as described I was to have my deposit back.

It's a Vauxhall dealer, made it quite clear that if the car isn't immaculate then we won't want it.
But it's only done 10k, I can't imagine it will be beat up.

Corsa D 1.4 16v? Good luck on the fuel consumption front imho. I reckon you'll be getting about 40-42mpg depending on the drive.
