That is beyond a joke. I bet FIFA encouraged us to bid just to humiliate us.

This sucks. Losing to Germany earlier this year was hard enough, now we lose the chance to host it in 8 years time.

At least we have the

Rugby World Cup
Cricket World Cup
Olympics
Commenwealth games
CL Final this year

all coming in the next decade. guess that was the proof fifa needed to realise that England wasn't a suitable place for the world cup

I think we should take OUR ball and stay at home.

I still enjoy watching England play, as dissapointing as it may be, but whats the fucking point now, disband the team

If there talking about developing football in certain countries then i don't see how russia comes into this.
footballs been around for generations and if a country of that size is still only getting 12,000 average attendances then i dont see what the world cup is going to do!
rather it have gone to spain least then i could have holiday in barcelona getting a tan during the world cup

ok my theory on the world cup bid,
fifa are corrupt cunts and made a ridiculous decision,
russia has 1 stadium at 76k the rest are 36k and less!
russia has how many big teams csk moscow it the only one i can think of, and they are as big as celtic tbh

in comparison we have the likes of old Trafford, anfield, emerates, Wembley and many more well over 40k

however were England fucked up, BBC (enough said), stupid brummys and the act it was England not the UK, if it was the uk we would then have many other big stadiums, like the millenium statium, Celtic Park, Hampden Park, Ibrox Stadium all above 50k,

Money talks eh

Russia have no history, no legacy, no great passion for the game, no stadiums, inadequate transport etc.

They do however have a lot of very shady men with loads of cash.

I doubt that Panorama special helped our bid either like.
