obviously he shouldn't of done it, but he tried to break someones head a week before and nothing happened, seems like they're just trying to right that decision.
Agreed. The FA aren't targeting the right offences. Punishment doesnt fit the crime.

I don't want to be deemed biased, but I really would say the same if it happened to be Gerrard or Carragher:
A player expressing emotion in the heat of the moment can be given the benefit of the doubt of forgetting themselves.
It isn't like he injured another player by doing a dirty tackle or attacked/aimed his actions at a fan.
I think a fine would have been more fitting.
I'm not sure I agree with appealing as chances are the ban will be increased now.

It didn't help that they decided on a new "respect" campaign last week too.
Obviously he wasn't abusing the ref or other players, or anyone at all really, but the FA have probably seen it as a chance to show their intentions to "clean up the game" or some bullshit. They are all retarded morons up there as we all know

FU Nath.
What's a fine going to do? Not like it's going to be 10 million pounds? It would be a pathetic £10k to them or something. I think it's right to ban him, he sure won't do it again but now he's appealed it will be one or no games

They have accepted the charge but contesting the length of the ban. Want to get it down to a 1 game ban so he is back for the FA semi final.

Tommy L feels very strongly about this. He wants Rooney banned for the Newcastle game.

Doesn't matter if he plays or not, you'll still smash us
I just know peoples views would be very different if it was Barton that had done it. Plus, as good a footballer he is, he's a stupid twat.

Hope it gets extended to 3 for contesting it. Should have accepted it and moved on IMO.

I'd rather football be like it is nowadays than the bad old days with standing room only. Open racism, abuse, the threat of violence all the time. Going to the football in those days was frightening.

Don't agree with that tbh.
They get away with more than they should tho.
