I'd refuse it and rape them for a replacement??

To think these cars are supposedly thoroughly checked before being sold on as previously owned cars.......pfffft.

What they've sold you isn't fit for purpose.

Kick up a stink.

Yep I've just rang them told them I'm not happy with my family being driven around in a car that's seemingly been in an accident. When the sales manager rings me back I'm going to ask for a replacement at their cost I'd ideally want an R27 so selling us a bent car is not on, not on at all.

I think I have decent grounds for my demands.

As above, if it was done a while ago and they did a good job the repair will be hard to spot.

Saying that, I bent the rear axel on a kerb in my first Corsa, no bodywork was damaged. Just replaced the rear beam, even the wheel itself was fine.

Shame really as the car is mint, apart from that and it even drives fine.

Is it the actual beam thats bent or just the stub axle??

Tbh if its rattled a kerb it wont necessarily do any damage to the bodywork.

Guy at work spun his 206 and whacked the kerb, bent the stub axle and mangled the wheel.Bodywork didn't have a mark on it.

It must have had a seriously big whack into something for it to bend the axle and for the average punter to spot this and no other renault tech did is very worrying IMO.

I personally either demand my money back or a sound replacement.

A dealer selling a car with such a big visual fault is not on.

I dunno what to do TBH, car is in fantastic condition but after speaking to Jr its not just the beam that could also mean the mounting points could be bent, sticking a new one on could solve the issue but I don't like that it could still have an issue.

i wouldn't have the car back imo, they sold you something with a problem, some normal non-elite person might of never noticed.

how else can you bend an axle other then slamming sideways into something?

Probably slid in the ice earlier this year tbh. Our bodyshops were brimming with suspension/steering/mechanical damage as oposed to bodywork damage.
majority were low impact jobs from what I remember.

My brother bent the rear axle on his Corsa a couple of years ago in the snow. Wasn't going fast & slid in to a kerb so I don't think it takes that much. No bodywork damage from it either.

They won't argue with me, either that or they take the car back and find me another at their cost. I might even ask they warranty the car for another year. I hope they plan on putting a new stub axle, bearing etc on it as well. I'll be raising this tomorrow I don't want half measures

Thats a bit pooh, never did work out why my vts had one rear wheel that sat in at a slight angle (pre and post beam refurb) drove fine though.

Although that was a £900 car not a 7k one

Kick up a fuss and milk them for everything, thats why you buy from a dealer

Tbh I can't see them Veoh.g thay helpful, they will replace the minimum they can for visual impact. They will try everything to prevent that car going bacl on the forecort so male sure you read the t&cs of the contract re 14 day cooling off period. Experience would show that you just need to be a twat and kick and scream but be clever about it.

Not sure why they'd have to find you a car either?

They take that one back under duress then tell you to beat it.

they don't have to find you another one, like john said, basically just a refund.

they have to accept the car back if it has defects but don't have to get you another one, just give a complete refund.
