It was bought as Tiagra and I stripped it all back to the frame & crankset and sold all the parts.

Replaced them with SRAM Apex and replaced all the cabling/bars/stem/saddle & pedals.

Was my first time building all the parts back up.. Was fun!

Cant see me being able to keep it so white though..

Very true Walby tbf.

I was all set to go out last Sat morning but went out for Jen's birthday on friday night and consumed too much alcohol (especially as I don't really drink these days) and spent Sat morning puking up lol.

Got broken toe now too so fuck knows when i'll be out on it!

Anyone got a specialized stumpjumper? Thinking of getting one after looking at many other options, the major thing swaying me is how local the specialized store is, easier to return etc.

Have also been looking at a Canyon Nerve AM, but not really sold on the whole direct import principle of it, comes with its risks as well as advantages!

Mine is the 2006 model, I've only ridden it for about 10 hours. I took it down the bike shop for a service last weekend and he was like WTF, why is it so clean?

Just done my first ride over 100 miles. 130 mile 3 loops ride around Cheshire. Managed it in 7.45 which for a first attempt I was pretty happy with.

thats decent

went out for a ride today ... did 40 miles and although my legs could have gone on my back was killing me ... always takes a few weeks each year when I start using a bike again before I can be comfortable on longer rides

2nd hand spesh allez can be had for that sort of price. If you can get a 2010 model I think that comes with sora over the later used 2300 I have on my 2011 allez.

If you had around £650 to spend on a hardtail what you go for?

Thinking last years model of something would get me much better spec than 12, possibly:

Or if 2012 these seems well spec'd:

Would prefer a Trek or Specialized of some description mind.

Why do you specifically want to spend that much? Why don't you just opt for a Specialized Hardrock and save yourself £200??

That's lovely, didn't even look at that, thought it was going to be a bit rubbish for some reason. That would be ideal. Nismo, cycle to work scheme so why not?

Tom

Take a look at the Cubes.

http://www.formbycycles.co.uk/product/10424/Cube_Attention_Mountain_Bike_2012

Or if you could push to it
http://www.formbycycles.co.uk/product/10422/Cube_Acid_Mountain_Bike_2012

Depending on what type of riding you want to do, the 29" version is well reccomended

Been thinking about a new bike the past few days. Could be tempted to buy a road bike this time.

Was going to use staff discount but looking at the price of bikes now, sack that. £550 is looking like a starting price.

Dived on gumtree, tonnes of specialized Allez' for around £200, Winner!
