Ah ha

Thank you sir. Think i've seen it. Looks a bit like the dash and steering wheel on a Series 1 Discovery.

Should be called Armitage Shanks Blue.

Stupidly cheap now, I honestly cannot think of a car that ticks more boxes for the money.

My dads considering selling my mums convertible m3. Silver one. Around an 04. Owned from 6 months old. Less that 40k on it. Full bmw s/h lowered 40mm on eibachs. Would be looking around 10k due to condition

I'd say that was priced spot on. It would sell easier and quicker if you took the eibachs off though.

You have a point but at that mileage and lack of owners i would be sticking it up for around £10k and be happy with 9kish. Being silver won't help but it would probably sell to somebody who is more bothered about condition than colour.

So, im off to look at 2 cars next week. First one is a 2003 silver grey convertible, manual. second one is a 2004 estoril blue coupe, smg.

Both completely different but i am hoping that one will stand out for me that bit more to make my decision easier

Jambo. Put the eibachs on it due to the issue with the standard rear springs snapping.went through 3 standard ones. 2 in one year. Eibachs have been on for 2 years hassle free. Not sure if this is only an issue with the conv??

Dude. Seriously just stop talking rubbish.

Yes, you might be lucky and grab a bargain at Xmas here and there. But low mileage ///M cars are worth a lot of money. No matter what model as they are popular, plentiful with high miles and collectable.

It's all BMWs, not just 3s.

Every single model has the same issue as they all have a massive water trap in the bottom arms.

Blimey! What a design flaw.

So do they corrode and break, rather than suffering failure from fatigue or resonance based issues then Robin?

From what it sounds like water is sitting in the spring cups? Which I can imagine happening. There is a drain hole but I guess it's a damp country!

Ffs take of them rose tinted glasses for a moment. Fact is they are very expensive to run and are depreciating fast.
