dave dixon also had a quick go of my car at the end of the day before they shut the gates... i told him to go canny pulling away cos the clutch is just slipping like a bitch and he got a 13.03... 60ft was 2.0, no 0-60 on that one though (right lane)

tye guy clearly has skills. And timing slips to back up the car, yet Internet questions actual facts, yet one spastic can make up a wild assumption about a rusty puma and everyone accepts it.

What the fuck is going on?

cheers to all the haters along the way, made me more determined to do it, and now i have you still cant take it in

Nic - do you think the time is realistic, or improbable? Discount the time-slip, and form an opinion?

It just seems hellofafast for what it is

I've seen Dave dixons v6 nova many times. Its completely realistic time yes. Sub 800kg shell, all the weight over front wheels with enough but not too much power so will make use of the grip instead of just spinning. Totally possible, and as proven, it has done it.

See one thing I don't get about pod is its all glued and prepped so cars are always going to be a hell of a lot faster than a dusty airfield yet that's never thought of as being, perhaps, cheating......

Its at the 1/8th of a mile in 8 and a bit seconds though at what is it 75mph? So another 30mph in just over 4 seconds isn't too hard to believe.

Edit, 8.2 seconds to 85mph so a further 4.7 seconds to to another 20mph. Totally possible. Much launch really really good.

Using that logic, if it takes 4.2 to get to 60, if it takes 4 seconds to get from 60 to 85 then it's going to take longer than 4 seconds to get from 85 to 105. Something doesn't add up somewhere and I'm going with bens suggestion the timing is crap until it's done it at the pod. That will be the proof in the pudding.

if you can change gear at the right point and get a good set off, how many goes do you think it requires before people believe a printout?

Its pretty easy to drive forwards lets be honest.

so why when i was building my car was everyone saying that i was going to be doing crap times until i had a lot of seat time , look at specky /chris sutton, been doing it for years and can do good times, my first outing i wasn't setting 1.8 60fts, so what you saying is that he will do even better times at pod than that as pod is prepped and glued unlike york

Should do better times yeah. Its a fully treated surface.

Difference is you have 3 times the power. Setting off will take a few more goes to master, correct? Not hundreds of goes, you will have a good idea after 4-5 then perfect it.

All just depends how well you understand the car and what causes what to happen. Jeds is pretty simple build, its a budget job not big bucks with electronic gadgets to set up.

i agree jeds is a simpler car but he was doing 2.2 60 fts all day then knocked nearly half a second of that with a 1.8sec, i just dont think thats possible with out a lot of practice or throwing slicks on it
