25mph? Can't really tell how steep the slope is before the "off piste" is there, I'm assuming the photo is taken from up the slope. So can't say how fast he'd of been coming down really
I hit 40mph according to the GPS app I had on my phone, and that was my second week of boarding. A few guys I went with topped 60 on skis, so an experienced skier could probably have been going that speed at that section if there's a steep slope off camera

I did laugh at some of the reports saying "up to 60mph". We no he would not have been doing that down there. It's more between piste than real off piste
I clocked 51.3mph off piste last year; this year I've bought a new directional, powder board to attempt 60mph. I would hazard that Ed and stu are significantly quicker than me and I'd hazard that Shumacher is quicker than them. It may have been an exaggeration but I can see him being more than capable of it.

As someone who lives in the area he will know the area like the back of his hand so he would not have gone flying into that area at speed. If he did then he was completely irresponsible
He probably was going way way slower, all you had to do is catch a hidden rock to fall and then hit another hidden rock.
Apparently I did 72 according to my phone but I know its wrong as I have another GPS dongle which is much more reliable and showed a more realistic 49 - Even at that speed I knew that any edge and i was going home in an ambulance. Watching some of the phone traces up chair lifts is quite comical

You don't have to be going that fast to fuck your head up. A) it's very fragile and B) if your feet stop then your body acts as a lever accelerating your face into the floor. I can remember a time when I fell feet first and ended up smashing my head into the the ground, I got such bad whiplash and was seeing stars for a few seconds. In hindsight I should have gone and got checked out.
Plus, you can fall at tremendous speed and just 'rag doll' down the mountain (you might wreck your knees, arms, shoulders) and be just fine. If you fall and stop suddenly then you're probably experiencing similar forces to a car crash.

Why else would you want to go down a hill on some sticks, other than to break speed limits?

If you're really hardcore, you do it using the roof of a car. #FrancescaAnobile

I've just read on twitter from a photography journalist that there has apparently been another journalist dressed up in a priests outfit to gain access into the hospital.
Unconfirmed of course but what the fuck goes through these peoples minds.

That's subtle contemporary Nazism for you. Massive hero worship disorder, plus easily corrupted & lead by charming, egotists/narcissists/psychopaths/sociopaths. Hence their grief at the potential loss of their pristine Aryan 'leader'.
I'm sure they'll soon dry their tears, switch their allegiances and begin worshipping at the temple of vettel if the other bloke snuffs it.
