Bit more progress tonight

Made a couple of brackets out of some right angle 3mm steel bar, drilled holes and pot riveted them to the floor, these allow me to fix in the universal battery clamp, battery in and tested, works perfect



cleaned up floor a bit more and red oxide painted it ready for the por15 when it arrives

First bit of rot found, in the corner of the seat box where it meets the sill



Seats removed




Pretty rotten all along the bottom edge of these panels actually



Souveniers found





Carpets removed



Nice and solid underneath



Spot welds drilled out



Box ends removed









New alu panels ordered, this also turned up

This is probably the only bit which is stopping me driving it. Hopefully have this front end bit done by the end of the weekend, hopefully nothing apocalyptic will happen between then and now

More progress tonight, etch primered the alu panels, otherwise the paint wont stick and fixed them in



cleaned up the inside ready for painting, applied some anti rust stuff to the existing nuts







chequer plate turned up too

So gave it all a coat of black





battery tray had some neoprene sheet put in for the battery to sit on



Battery in with its new clamp



On to this checker plate, old stuff off



Black stuff on



Sill plate on



Rear corners



Overall



I have put all the seats back in too but run out of time so will take more pics tomorrow, iv also ordered some new fitted trim that goes around the seat box to replace the manky old stuff

No point if outside is going black in the summer might as well start now

Besides when all the trim is back in you can hardly see any of that painted metal anyway
