So we had a cheeky little issue with a hairline crack appearing when rolling the arches last weekend due to having to apply large amounts of force as it was close to a weld from when it had its sexy new arches fitted didn't really bother me as if was minimal but as my buddy who painted the car said bring it back and he will blow it in for feck all I wasn't going to say no so took a trip there today

Didn't bother putting it in the booth for a tiny blow in just boxed it off on the ramp looks blob on now it's done can't even tell

After he had rubbed it down a bit this is the situation that needed assessing .....

Heres a pik of how far back we got the lip right back against itself the black stuff is underseal we packed it with before fully folding it over so no such rusting can occur any time soon

This is a picture of my wheel and how it sits I took it because I was bored along with a few others of it on the ramp for the hell of it

BISH.....

BASH....

BOSH.....

Also while I was waiting I was sick of the shit silver jvc aids old headunit that had been in the car since I got it it was crap and skipped more than a crack head on whizz so I though I would see if the random headunit I had in the boot and cannot for the life of me remember where I got it from worked.... It did made up its a bit gay but it's got Bluetooth and aux and all that shit so can use my phone for music and keep the big screen folded down unless I wanna watch a porno whilst eating a makkies then I can whip that out (the screen I mean) handy piece of kit and loads better than the last one

Open

Closed

Took a pik of my wheel on an angle outside my mates house because it looked cool as it caught my eye but I couldn't get the image in I got in my eye to take in a picture but fuck it

And a pik outside my new house with my bmw iv bought for when my first born arrives in feb it's a 320d great on fuel and has brackets for isofix car seats wahayyyyy winner

That's all for now guys hope u enjoy reading

Got my chips today fitted them and they work no eml light on either as I was told it may happen if they were copied chips

Also trial fitted my adjustable fuel pressure reg gonna take it to work tommorow and trim the 2nd hole off tha bracket and round it off to make it a bit neater and get some hose and new clips etc to make it nice and tidy keep the hose work hidden under the "turbo" cover

Hoping to have a play on Saturday with pressures and boost

Got the fuel reg bracket adjusted and fitted it all properly today and took it for a run with the evo 5 chips got it set at holding 14psi (1bar) and over boosting 18psi chips say set it to hold 16psi and overboost 18 but I'm happy to keep it a touch lower fueling is set to 4bar the difference is unbelievable power delivery is so brutal seems loads less laggy just goes and pulls twice as hard all the way to the limit every gear it was quick before but now you really have to hold on a bit I'm made up even managed to upset an evo 8 whilst out playing with settings so that's an added bonus

Paddle clutch ordered went for a 5 paddle as 4 would be too brutal for road use I reckon, 5 will still be harsh but not as bad I hope, got it from CG Motorsport seem to know there stuff

Well what a day!! Major panic new clutch turned up happy days!! Opened it and straight away I noticed the pressure plate is for a pot type flywheel 99.99999% sure mine was a flat type in came the car on my dinner break for an inspection yep it's a flat so frantic phone call to supplier to find they can't get me the one I need untill Monday gutted as wanted to go to a rolling road day on Sunday, 20 Mins later he rings back and said he has one due to go out to another customer and he was willing to change the address and send it to me so they can recieve theirs on Monday instead bit naughty but I'm not complaining in the slightest cannot thank the guys at CG Motorsport enough for their help!!!

Anyway also noticed that the clutch was soaked with oil cannot fit a nice new expensive clutch to get it soaked in oil so another frantic phone call was made to vauxhall to order a input shaft seal as this is where I reckon it's coming from (only other place could be engine leaking from above and running down or the rear main which would wet the other side of the flywheel not the clutch side) so must be the input got one of them coming tommorow which I'm rAther worried about as the parts guy cleArly had no mechanical knowledge so I could end up with anything lol

Fingers crossed it should be all systems go tommorow to get it boxed off

New clutch

All went like clock work new pressure plate came seal from vauxhalls was correct all came apart nice and easy, took me just over a hour to remove old clutch clean all the oil and contaminated clutch dust off fit new input shaft seal new paddle clutch and box it all back up, love the old f16 box just pull the input shaft out through the end casing and do a clutch through the inspection plate !!

Didn't take loads of piks as just wanted to get the job done

Did take a few piks of it next to one of ari vatanens old cars which we have in for sale at the moment couldn't help myself two old skool opel/vauxhalls

Enjoy

Rolling road day today at A&M Conversions didn't know what to expect as haven't had it on the rollers yet....

Was a nightmare getting it strapped down as I have no towing eye because of the boost pipes and then when we sorted that it was so low the subframe bottomed out on the rollers so the wheels didn't drop down into the rollers fully so didn't have enough weight on them did a few test runs @ 60mph to make sure it had some grip seemed ok so went for it

Still span the wheels a bit but made 339bhp on first run and 314bhp on second run gonna go back in the week and he's going to do it again with the suspension lifted a bit so it sits on rollers properly

Good day though good to see some new faces

Gonna upload a few vids if I can anyone else got any piks?

Neither did I too be honest mate Its allways felt quick especially on the new set up but it's allways hard to judge the power really made up with it though pulled hard all the way through the revs bit of overboost and drops back off like it should

Does Suprise a lot of stuff they expect it to be slow because it's old lol

The daily drive to and from work is great because is nearly all dual carriage way and loads of sets of lights I always get in the left lane and pretty much atleast at one set of lights per night there will be some guy in a suit in a flash bm or merc or Audi etc trying to have it off the lights I think the best two cars iv beaten that even I didn't think I would are a new xkr jag and an evo 8 fq360 I don't know exactly how light it is but I'd say the whole interiour probably weights the same as just the 2 front seats out of a big German modern car lol

Went to a rolling road day today organised by flybikeslee (nice to meet you!) at EFI In Runcorn managed to get it on their rollers with a bit of fucking round! And got 3 runs, since last time iv nocked the boost down from 18psi to 10psi and it made 278bhp at that, strange really because it doesn't seem much slower with the 35ish bhp less just more manageable so may keep it as it is for a while at least it's safer

Was also suprised to see a tidy mk1 astra so took a snap

Well if I'm totally honest for the run I did last month before hand I bought new chips and injectors and set a different fuel pressure and boost but did it all myself just to the "specs" of the chips and set the boost with a 10mm spanner and a big hill just to get it there abouts did the run got a bigger than I expected figure but it was only a power run no AFR checks so turned it down as was still using it quite regularly, today's run had a AFR check too where we found out it's running rich which makes sense as iv turned the boost down but not the fuel pressure so it's piece of mind really that I can put it back up and not melt anything lol

Here's today's

Also found one from last time in the boot the big plunge in the curve is because he let off then accelerated again to try and get it to grip because of the subframe issue

Also here's a couple of piks of the r5 turbo they had there .... Turbo is massively huge haha
