Well the people who built my bottom end gave me this receommended run in procedure.
I worked out it would take loads of miles. Something like increases the revs by 100rpm every 100miles, starting at 2500rpm. Then go and see them to get it mapped.

although he did say as my bottom end was brand new from VW the bores would be far better than any rebored block so not as important.

Once the rings are bedded in that's it. Nothing more needs to be done.

I did everything else, they assembled the bottom end and i also bought a head that was complete, so i just fitted a gasket and bolted them together then did timing, cams etc
Have seen too many so called DIY engine builders doing it themselves their dirty garages and then having to rebuild the engine multiple times due to something breaking.
As a tory i'd rather pay someone to do it properly.

Yep, VW use a multimillion pound machine, most engine specialists around the UK would use a few thousand pound machine.

nope, i'm just not a gippo and didn't want to risk doing it wrong, can't say you had much luck with engines.
Couldn't even do a boost pipe up properly.

Nope it broke every qtr mile run weekend, same as bigron. Takes 2-3yrs to get one 1/4mile time without any excuses. Undrivable on the road, no engineering or thought process, just more power more power more power.
All you seemed to care about was a BHP figure, yay, got more bhp than a ferrari can't drive very fast and wheelspin everywhere, but got more power than a ferrari.
I'm restoring a car, hoping for 200-210bhp and that'll be perfect.
