Lotus?
I was expecting this to be banned end of season but they're talking about a mid season ban. I know no more about the FRIC system than any other armchair expert - but it certainly doesn't strike me as a bolt on/off part

It says they may postpone a ban until next year, but it needs the support of every single team, which is unlikely if the other teams believe it'll get them closer to the mercs.

God knows what Rosberg is doing then, but he's definitely testing as he's posted it is his Facebook page.

Redbull and Lotus use FRIC too I believe, so may not be clear cut.

Controls pitch to help maintain a constant ride height, obviously that has big benefits for the aero. You'd imagine that you would design your aero around the fact the car sits how it's expected to.
Also expected it to go this season. Seems mental they could outlaw it 9 races in.
In order for a non mid season change it needs unanimous support from all teams. Obviously that's not going to happen

Don't the rebull have fantastic aero? If thats the case. They'd definitely be calling for a postponement. If not, they'll be fighting the marussias and caterhams

Going OT again. Some pics from the weekend;
Literally just a few - haven't uploaded them all to Flickr either as they get a bit repetitive otherwise!

Love the last one Gritt I notice he did his traditional donuts at Stowe too. Class, just hope it hasn't taken any life out of his car

How long is a F1 car, looks long.

They're limited to 1.8m wide but the length can vary as it's a combination of other rules which makes up the length rule... such as the length between front axle and nose must be no bigger than X, but the wheelbase can vary between Z and Y... etc.
Typically about 4.5m IIRC.

They look incredible! Much better. Bet the drivers won't like hitting the bumps with them though.

They just don't look F1/Motorsport anymore, from the side looks just looks like wheels off a road car stuck on with some tyre wall paint

I like them.
I think it would be good, and they should introduce them. I don't think I like the look of them 100% though. Something just reminds me of a Tyre company using a random "race car" from an obscure formula with no sponsors and over sized wheels on their brochures or adverts.

Doesn't look that bad but I prefer the aesthetics of the current smaller wheels.

Topic hopping back to the FRIC drama, apparently both RBR and Merc will run without the system in Germany, prior to the rule being clarified.
Seems like it is a relatively bolt off/on jobby.
Lewis was also testing this week without FRIC, which involved a spin
