I'm not trying to say you lot are not sophisticated enough to enjoy such a good movie, but that is exactly what I'm trying to say.

There has to be a reason so many professional movie reviewers rated the film so highly and rated it best film of the year.

Well, I can not see Drive being held in such high regard as The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, To Kill A Mockingbird, Dr Strangelove, The Good the Bad and the Ugly amongst others in 30 years time

Haha, we are clearly not educated enough to see that as such a positive to a film with a weak story line.

I do too, just far from amazing/wanking over its excellence.

Exactly.
The trouble is, if you watch a film expecting it to be shit and it's 'ok', I think you tend to hold a slightly better opinion of it.
I have paranormal activity 3, but the misses won't let me watch it with her around

I never said it was amazing / wanking excellence... everyone else jumped on that bandwagon.
Here's my original post on the 25th of September when I had just seen it.

Really dark film, but really good.
[Edited on 25-09-2011 by Paul_J]
Only 8/10... not 9/10... not 10/10.
I just disagreed with the guys saying 1/10 - 5/10 "utter wank".

Closer to the Edge - 7/10
Actually really good. I think the fact that Guy Martin is quite the charactor helps too. I wouldn't have gone to see it in IMAX however.

Fight Club - Had seen it before but never really paid proper attention. It's good but I don't think it's as amazing as others seem to - 7.5/10
In Bruges - Not bad, not paticuarly good - 5/10
