so back to tonights update. really not many pictures as me and my mate slick were working pretty hard at it to try and see if it can live on.
some stuff removed. thats all the time there was to take a pic of removing stuff.
not sure you can make out the destruction too well in those pics.
although that last one should help. yep, gears in oil pump absolutely shafted. as in broken up, cracked etc.
amazingly, about an hour later, started it up after fitting new pump. more amazingly it held just under 5bar pressure from cold. had a noisey lifter. that got quiet. no knocking, no anything. when warm oil pressure was at around 1.5bar.
drove it home from jdm dyno (was using his ramp to do this) all way checking oil pressure gauge. seemed fine.
so far, it seems ok. i think i will put a quid on the lottery this week. that kind of oil pump destruction would usually mean the end. ghetto cumbrian team of modifiers dont give in so easily.
so big thanks to mr jdm for the loan of a ramp for an evening. and thanks to the one and only slick.

Excellent indeed, are you just going to give it a good flush with some cheapo mineral oil a few times?
