I'm happy as larry now after many hours...yet again....sorted out the knocking noise that occurs at speeds over approx 6mph engine is now foam/sponge free

neighbours must think I am nuts... opening n shutting bonnet, starting car up gawd knows how many times, driving off umpteen times... sometimes I make it as far as 10 metres down the road, n I turn back

just they wait till morning.... I'll be crawling under the car

I'm 'supposed' to be writing up a report / log of all the work I've done in my job over the last 2 months for an apprasel (sp) tomorrow...

tbh I can't be arsed - I'll just say I lost my logbook in manchester on sat night at the rl grandfinal or something!

Finally got Initial D for the PS2 to work

altho I must admit, the telly I have is really really old, n is due to be replaced, coz it plays imports in black n white

anyways... just had a quick blast... n here is what I think....

seems quick, that is the sense of speed
you get talky sequences, and during a race
the tyre screeches are no gt3 but then again budget was prolly far lower than gt3
it's in feckin japanese, so I have absolutely no idea what it is on about, or what the onscreen text is saying
you get to race with the famous AE86 as well as all the other cars in the movie and a few more from what I can gather
proper characters from the series/movies
music from the series/movies
the track I raced on seems familiar, looks like they might have taken the courses from the series/movies

enuf chit chat.... gotta see if I can beat the fc n fd now

oi oi... no dodgy stuff please

I do still prefer GT3 like, but Initial D is just so special.... like pretending to be Takumi Fujiwara.....cept I kept losing to the quicker cars.....battling the sil180.....n they keep beating me....sumtimes by just a whisker....its sooooo darn annoying lol

drifting the perfect line is a must

just to whet ur appetites even more.....

with the help of a rather incomplete guide, to help peeps that dun understand Japanese here is what I have found out about Initial D....

Arcade mode, which I am playing atm. U earn points, and the car is upgraded when u reach certain amount of points

Manga mode, also known as story mode, in which u play out the series and from what I can gather, it goes a little further than the series by revealing what happens when the movie ends, and the formation of Project D - can't beat the damn FC

Time Attack - easy way of earning points n learning the tracks

Records and Replays

Car Gallery

voices in the game are the same as the ones in the cartoon

bgm is also from the cartoon

the cartoon sketches, I presume are from the books

tracks are from the cartoon, altho how accurate I dunno

all in all, a very good game, esp if ur a fan of Initial D

now dun ya just wanna pop to yesasia and get a copy ordered?

oh...forgot to say, it looks like a version is available for the GBA Initial D Another Stage I think it is called
